Default Dakar Allocation?

Anyone know of any available/editable Dakar 992 allocations? I am willing to pay an ADM. Just think it is so fun/cool. I'm over all the GT cars, but tricking one of these out with the rack, lights, etc sounds like fun. I'd have a loaded build. Anyway, if anyone knows of one, please just PM me. I tend to buy several loaded Porsches a year but the previous dealers I have given all of my business to are just too small and hence I continue to look for one! Thank you!

I highly doubt there are any available allocations

You could probably pick up one for $250k adm.

I thought that I heard on the Spike’s Car Radio podcast that they’ve all been spoken for.

Unless buyers back out, I've also heard that all 2500 are spoken for

I've heard from a good source that the "Dakar" treatment will be offered as a regular model in the lineup in the near future (not a limited numbered run).

Pretty sure Dakar is German for 'sucka'.

When the gas/groceries war starts, we will all be converting our 911s into safaris. lol

Seems like another 911R/GT3T situation in the making. It needs to be 100k cheaper and do hope you're right.

From what I was told, 100K below is wishful thinking ;-)

I don't mean base price. Most Dakars will be in the 250-275k range. I think it should be a $150-175k car. Hard to say because Porsche has gotten so greedy since the 992. Things that were standard in the 991.2 are now options in the 992 and the base price has gone up. I would think the Dakar/Safari/Off Road should have minimal options but doubt that will be the case with the current pricing strategy.

Nothing terribly special about the pieces that turn a 911 into a Dakar. Folks that really want that kind of utility and a more aggressive and authentic 911 Safari look can get it here for a fraction of the premium Porsche charges to turn a run-of-the-mill 992 into a Dakar. https://www.elephantracing.com/911-s...fari-packages/

It's entirely possible that the Dakar becomes a regular trim for the 992.2. If that happens, I would not expect the graphics packages to be carried forward -- they would be limited to the 992.1 cars.

I apologize in advance for hijacking this 3d in order to enquire about how many confirmed Dakar allocation are we seeing coming out in the different geographical areas worldwide.

Here in Switzerland Porsche is apparently releasing very few MY2023 allocations.
My Porsche Center was able to get 4 Sport Classic (1250 cars in total worldwide) and apparently has got only 2 Dakar allocations for MY 2023 at this point and they expect the next allocations to be MY 2024.

If I am not wrong here on Rennlist we got confirmation of a single allocation to a forum member in Europe, up til now.

These start to look as very low numbers for Europe on this model, and Porsche may be reserving allocations for other markets ...

Any additional info or comments on the subject?

At my mid-to-large size US dealer, they have only received the 2 factory guaranteed allocations for the 2 918 owners. The GM expected 1-2 more just based on stated 2500 units, but they are not getting anymore MY23 cars. Dealer (and myself) is hopeful for MY24 allocations, but doesn't expect to know until August.

Edit:. There has been rumors of dealers in the US selling Dakar allocations, but unclear if those are configurable extra allocations, or if they are helping their VIP 918 owners flip their already ordered cars. Haven't bothered to check around though, as I'm relying on my dealer to come through or it just wasn't meant to be.

Seems like I would be more fun to build your own version, if you are the type who likes to work on these cars. You could probably build something better for less money.
