Just installed the Kies Valve Controller on my 992.2 C2. What a difference! Nice throaty rumble at startup, a lot more fun driving with the paddle shifters as well, now that the sound matches the rpm. Downshifting going into a tight 25 mph turn and letting her rip on the exit is highly enjoyable. This is what the car should be. For me, I don't think I'm ever going to need aftermarket exhaust. This should be perfect for the long term.
10/10 recommend the upgrade. Took about 30 minutes, need to jack up the rear left and right a bit for access. Piece of cake.
No, (I assume you mean CEL) and I am not aware of this even being a thing, honestly. But if I do experience a CEL I'll definitely come back here and report it.
it will. but there seems to be 2 different ways the valves function on the 992.2. Everyone with the base says that the vlaves function like the .1 and rpm. however a few of us with S models have verified that when the car is in sport the valves are always open when the car is warm. to play it safe i would just let the car warm and throw it in sport and look in the pipe. if the valve isnt fully open install it. or if you plan to drive in normal all the time. install it
Take a look at my recent experience in this thread below with my 2025 992.2 S. I had to return the KIES valve controller as it led to multiple codes.
I recently drove the vehicle in sport and sport+ with the valve controller removed and took these photos afterward. Therefore, I'm not 100% certain what the valves were doing while driving as I was in the driver's seat, but from this photo, it does appear that on the .2S they do get to a physical fully opened state as this is the way they were positioned once the car was parked. If this is accurate, it would appear that a valve controller is not required at all in this scenario.
I will take a closer look next time I take the car out. Maybe I'm missing something but if anyone else has any similar or differencing experience, please jump in...

In the 992.2, the valves definitely stay wide open when enabled, it doesn't operate based on rpm. It only doesn't stay wide open at engine start without a valve controller. The only advantage the valve controller provides on the 992.2's is the wide open at engine start before the engine warms up. If you're okay waiting for that then skip the valve controller. Even with no CEL on during daily driving I have thrown a CEL when pushing on the track and never comes back when I reset it and go back to daily driving. The CEL did seem to be related to the exhaust valves if I remember correctly.
FWIW this is on my 2025 C2 and also had the same experience on 2025 T. It's not a special thing for S or higher. All 992.2's operate this way.

Thanks for that info. In that case, considering the codes I had and limited benefit, probably not necessary to go through the process again for my purposes.
