yes, I have catless + PSE with valves full open mod, and its very loud and deep. Minimal drone I would say.

I have IPE valved catback and absolute no drone. Its very distinguishable louder than PSE but not obnoxious. Valves closed and its almost as quiet as PSE. Cold start...is loud but goes away after 2 min.

Hard to say as everyone has a different drone tolerance.

I would say the valved soul exhausts we have experienced have minimal drone, and have valves to control when to be loud/quiet.

Let us know if you have any questions.

What's a ballpark cost on this project, including installation?

I have stock PSE, full stock cats with exhaust valves forced 100% open with my tune. It is noticeably louder than stock, and I feel an additional vibration throughout the car that wasn't present before. With that said, it does not drone at all on the highway. But, as Meraki mentioned, everyone's perception of "drone" is different. I've always found it amusing when people get an louder exhaust then complain that it drones. I have found that the exhaust note is just louder. Drone to me is like when my friend straight piped his Mustang 5.0 back in high school and when the car was revved to a certain RPM - like maybe 2K RPMs, it had this resonance that was loud and sounded like it was sitting right in the middle of your skull. THAT was droning and unbearable on the freeway.

Typical louder exhaust volume that comes from a well designed exhaust system that has been tested and tuned to not resonate at an annoying frequency does not really drone IMO.

What tune do you have? What was the cost? Does the tune add power as well? My 992 gts needs more decibels but not really wanting to start wrenching on it with only 500 miles on it.

If you are very sensitive to drone just stick to stock or you will not be satisfied. All the things in the factory exhaust that reduce exhaust sound also muffle drone.

I have the M Engineering stage 1 tune. It’s $2,495 but you can get a forum discount. They offer it in stage 1 and 2 and with different fuel octanes as well as full E85. Even stage 1 makes a significant increase in power. Best part is remaps are free. You can try whatever stage you want with whatever fuel and change any time in the future for no added cost. They also offer added features like defeat cold start, raise stationary rev limiter, and you can send them logs and they will fine tune your tune for you.

What did you use for controlling valves?
