What would be the point of that? Can only think of it being easier getting a loan from Porsche?

Banks have higher rates for re-financing cars than buying them new. It makes precious little sense to finance through Porsche.

2.9% last year 2022 @ 60 months at First Tech Credit Union. It was a good deal.

0.98 - 60 months Nov 21 (robbing the bank) 🤣

3.48 - 60 months Nov 22 ( short term T- bills are paying more)

I bought a 992 Carrera S this weekend and was quoted 7.99% through PFS. I declined their offer.

Hey guys

Porsche is offering 8.99% instead of 6.99% as noted in this thread. Obviously they adding their own markup.

If I close the deal with Porsche financial services, can I subsequently refinance with another lender? If so, what is the minimum time with porsche and is there a penalty?

Thanks!

They must be trying to squeeze you for more money. You dont have to share the number on a public forum, but is your credit rating affecting this by chance? I think many of us have recently talked to Porsche and the standard offer from PFS/on their website if you give them some basic info is the 6.99% we are all talking about. Please push back on them and go shop around for other rates... I really dont see how they can make you go with them if you bring them a better rate and bank that is willing to provide you a loan.

Your Porsche dealer is adding the maximum allowable markup and they would like you to keep the loan for 3-6 months (I can’t remember which) as they get kickbacks etc. This isn’t unique to PFS either, the dealers can have different relationships with multiple lenders that like certain things. Basically just do what is best for you.

There is no minimum time frame to switch lenders, you could start the process that day. The only minimum time I know of is if there is a rebate tied to financing, but there are obviously none of those for these purchases. Even in that case you can refi whenever you want, you’d just have to give whatever the offered rebate was back.

I just got $112k at 4.99% for 4 yrs at Penfed, could have got 4.89 for 3 yrs. Approved in a few hours, credit check only. Looks like USAA raised their rates a bit, I didn't even apply with them because even their teaser rate ads were higher.

Just got 5.24 at Consumers Credit Union on a 60 month loan. Generally content, quick and easy. Lowest I’ve seen around here for a non-federally subsidized lender.
