Rates are wild these days, in March '22 I had 2.5% for 24 - 84 months through a CU

Now it's 5.89 for 24-96 months.

2002 base 911 was $67,900, which is $113k in today’s money. Price has come down in real terms.

Who was your credit union?

Called up my CU which we have done 5 vehicles through over the years and was offered this...790-800 credit score to boot.

6.99 72mo
6.74 60 mo

Ridiculous

CRAZY! Not because its an outrageous rate... but because I don't know how a credit union could afford to charge that when BofA and other banks are still offering over 1% lower... And you have a relationship with them.
Similar thing just happened to me. Credit union I have used for 3 previous cars offered me 6.5% and I told them BofA was at 5.39% (Both were for 60 Months)... they said take it, we can't do that.

So for those of us with no connection to USAA, should we just go through one of the big banks? And finance as little as possible? Help me adult a little

I would advise to carve out a few hours each night for a week and research. When I purchased my boat I spent about 10 hours researching banks and CUs across the country. I ended up saving around 2% better than what a quick 10 minute search did for me.

The value from forums like this is so people can gather information in one place so researching is easier, no?

Agreed, but personally I wouldn't use it as an end-all source, but a great starting point.

For anyone in CA, I'd recommend Logix Credit Union.

Should I finance with Porsche and then switch to a lower rate or just start with someone outside of the Porsche financing from get go?
