Closed 5.25% with USAA. Was the best I could find.

Had to 'finance' my Targa 4s for 3 Payments as a part of my no ADM contingency lol. Got stuck with 7.13%, but was seeing rates around 5.25 from PenFed.

Yesterday, I was talking with a friend who's currently shopping. With excellent credit, 5s are still out there, but if you're outside of the excellent credit zone, 7s and even 8s are the current state of things. Given the increasing number of defaults on car loans, banks are getting more stringent.

Exactly a year ago I locked in a low 2% loan.

I wonder if the sand thought applies to homeowners that got a 3% loan; they’re not moving, thus causing low inventory.

Planning on putting at least half down on my $140K build, then hope to pay the rest off within 2 years. If rates are super high at the end of this year, I'll figure out a way to put down $100K, moving some stuff now to afford this. 4.99 at CU are about the best rates around here as of today, this is in Colorado.

3 payments isn't bad - I thought it was a minimum of 6 payments for the dealer to collect the commission?

Ask whether your lender refis car loans they originate - because on a 60 month term, rates are definetly going to be lower down the road. But some lenders will not refi a loan they originate (I know it sounds strange, but its true) - you can always refi with another lender later in the term, its a bit of a hassle to swap the satisfactions and liens on the titles.
