I'm in Canada and called 2 dealers looking for a Carrera T allocation. One said 3 year wait and the other 2 years. What has your experience been on trying to get a T allocation?

A while back I contacted a few dealers looking for a C2S.
Last month Porsche Saskatchewan contacted me saying they have a T allocation with late spring delivery.
I passed as I already have the C2S incoming.
Probably gone by now...

Placed a demand order the day car was announced in October... Received confirmed Allocation 2 months later on Christmas Eve. Car just was "scheduled for Production" Build date on 3/17 and Euro Delivery set for First week of June in Leipzig. So basically it was only 2 months from placing demand order to get allocation, and from Allocation date to build date was just about 3 months. Whole process will be 8 moths from start to finish

At least in the US, if you are trying to get a T allocation now, it will probably be at least 2 years since from what I understand all allocations have been handed as of now.

A lot of people have been lucky (like me). I have ordered in November but got the allocation car from the dealer. There were 2 cars going to every dealer. I think in USA as well? So managed to get that one from the dealer. Don’t know if it’s the first or second one. Production week 7. Delivery dealer 28 February if all goes according to plan.

T availability seems extremely uneven. Some dealers have long lists and others have had almost no one in line. I called around my local area dealers, found the shortest list, put my name down and had an allocation about 10 days later at MSRP.

called 4 SF Bay Area dealers in late Dec:
one was waitlist at 6 people no ADM, one was waitlist at 10 and not taking anymore, one was waitlist 3 and no ADM, and one was no waitlist w/an allocation - though they wanted 20k ADM.

It’s interesting to me that dealers are saying 2-3 years given the past T production run was relatively short. I suppose they don’t know with any certainty. Maybe the 992.1 T production runs longer because Porsche is further slicing the salami by keeping the manual transmission out of the base 992, but my suspicion is the 992.1 T production will parallel the 991 T. Why sell Ts when you can sell manual transmissions in S and GTS guise and command higher premiums?

Maybe the "2-3 years" timeline includes the unspecified likelihood of getting a T CPO. I can't see this model being produced over a number of years.

Yea, seems to me the 2-3 year time window does not factor in which 911, but they are simply saying the list length and # of allocations given on really any 911 would result in those people having to wait that long. I think dealers also tend to know less than people on Rennlist sometimes... SO they might be unaware or hopeful that Porsche continues to build this model or that the 992.2 is pushed another year allowing for 2 years of the T... but likely not the case if Porsche sticks to traditional methods of Parts Bin models

Thanks everyone. Up here, the dealer wait times are pure estimates with no guarantees. I suspect the 3 year wait time was given to try and push me into another Macan S since we had been talking about that first. I currently drive a Macan S daily year round and have a 993 for summer weekends. As I approach retirement, I’m thinking about going to a 992 T or something similar as a single year round car and driving my wife’s Macan when the weather is bad.
