Default New Build Porsche 911 - C4

All; I currently have a 2016 Cayenne and looking to buy a 911. I looked into previous gen. both .1 and .2 and prices are crazy ($80k plus). Placed a deposit to get on the list and choosing a Carrera 4.
I will keep the Cayenne and trying to minimize cost as it will not be a daily driver (I think for me); but mindful of getting a good experience too. Here is what I am thinking and would welcome feedback.

Price for Equipment
$17,300
  • Exterior Color Agate Grey Metallic
  • Leather Interior in Slate Gray/Chalk
  • Premium Package (Power Folding Exterior Mirrors; Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+); Surround View; Lane Change Assist (LCA); Ambient Lighting; Ventilated Seats (Front); Storage Package
  • Power Sport Seats (14-way) with Memory Package
  • Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof in Glass
  • Under Door Puddle Light Projectors
  • PDK
  • Sport Chrono Package
  • Power Steering Plus
  • 19"/20" Carrera Wheels
Only debates are 20"/21" RS Spyder Design Wheels and potentially Porsche Vector+.

If you want PTV+ and Sports Chrono, you may want to look at the Sport Package.

I also have agate grey and slate gray/chalk color combo. I love it and the interior combo is just so easy on the eyes. Power steering plus is a waste, but the puddle lights are a great conversation piece. I would add the heated steering wheel-on a cold day you will love it.

You may want to ditch the puddle lights.

I’d skip the power steering plus, but that’s me.

I couldn’t decide between the 19/20’s and the larger Carrera Classics, so I bought a set of the former on eBay to swap seasonally.

It might be useful to watch Nick Murray’s car options walk through, I found it helpful.

One of the key benefits of the C4 over the C2 is the ability to spec PTV+. It's a must-have option on the C4 IMO.

I was under impression that value of PTV+ is minimized with the AWD system?

It's quite useful and noticeable when driving aggressively in mountain twisties as it enhances rotation. Around town and at less than 6/10ths it's barely (if at all) noticeable.

Thanks for the feedback so far all.... and the tip on the options video.

Whats the thinking on why Power Steering Plus is a waste? Not sure I will be doing that many mountains; other thoughts on PTV+ then?

The power steering plus just makes the steering lighter at slow speeds like when in a parking lot. I have it on both my cars and am happy with it. Meaning, I've never thought to myself, "Why on earth did I get this option?"

OTOH, order the car without Power Steering Plus and if the low speed maneuvering proves unsatisfactory, have your dealer install the software upgrade to get Power Steering Plus active on your 992.

I have a c4 agate with black/bordeaux red interior.
Things I love- sport package, glass top/sunroof, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel.
Things I wish I had- 14way seats, roof prep for transport/rack (it’s only $60. It KILLS me that I can’t put a ski rack on).
Things you don’t need- power steering+, puddle lights.

unless you plan on winter tires or being lazy with performance all season tires, probably size up to the 20/21s. ( I have 2 wheel sets. Winter 19/20. Summer 20/21)

Yeah, $60 for any Porsche option is actually more like a cash rebate. I’m a cab fan, but if I ordered another coupe, I would absolutely get it even though I don’t ski and have a Tundra for moving big things.

It's a nice build. Personally I'd pass on the power steering plus as it's not a daily driver and opt for 20/21s, and get Bose if it's available. But your build is nice as-is. Agree with the suggestion to watch Nick Murrays' option run-through video on youtube, it's been hugely helpful for me in the past.

Do you already have an allocation or just contemplating getting one?

just curious cause I’m thinking of getting a C4, not sure how bad it will be to get an allocation.
