I must be special or something. Porsche wanted to charge me close to $5K per year for coverage. I got the quote online and on top of the Premium, they wanted to charge me per mile driven as well. What's up with that??? I completely forgot about that...

I have Porsche Insurance covering our 21 Cayenne Turbo and 23 Targa GTS. Safeco couldn’t come close to the monthly premium. Both cars covered for less than $400 for 6 months.

Will Porsche Insurance also insure the non-Porsche cars on your policy?

You need to shop around, all the companies have different rules and can vary regionally even within same company. This happens with homeowners insurance too sometimes, our former carrier, Allstate, wouldn't insure the house we bought 2 years ago as replacement cost was too high. Had to switch to Chubb which was a lot more expensive (and they require an actively monitored security as well which is another ~$600 a year). I'm sure you can find insurance... just might take some work.

Yup, that's how they do it. Photo of your miles now and then again later. I had them quote me for 5K miles a year to see what it would be every 6 months and it still was cheaper than my current insurance. The photos of your miles is kind of a pain, but it makes sense if its not your daily driver. And its pretty obvious that is the kind of car they prefer to insure. Porsche in just the managing general agency I found out... Spinnaker is the insurance company.

Yes, once you get one Porsche on the policy, they will do others. I threw on a pristine 40K mile 240D 5-speed w/stated value of $55K before the 40 year cut-off date in 2023. I looked at adding my daily (G550) and it was not a good option w/12-15K miles a year on that vehicle.

I am in WNY and Erie Insurance was more than happy to add ‘22 GT3 to my existing policy which also include 2 other Porsches.

Porsche insurance is only offered in a select group of states; no MD, VA, DC, or NY.

I'm with State Farm -- no issue insuring my GTS with ~180k sticker.

That's incorrect. It used to be that way, but they've been expanding the State's they offer coverage in. Not trying to be argumentative, just want accurate info out there in case it can help someone.

You might be right -- I didn't call anyone -- but their quote system has only a limited number of states in the dropdown. https://www.porscheautoinsurance.com/receive-a-quote

Out of curiosity I checked a quote for my 2016 Cayman GTS (here in California). There was no issue in getting a quote, so they didn't seem to have any problem with me being in California, for what that's worth. The quote was about 40% higher than what I'm paying with State Farm, though. The car is obviously worth a ton less than a new 911 and I've had no difficulty getting it insured - I just wanted to see how the pricing compared.

Pure customer here, too. I’ve had no trouble insuring full replacement value on Porsches (including my current TTS) as well as a couple other more exotic cars. I also have home insurance and an umbrella policy with them. I have no idea if the rates are any good, though. I suppose I should look and see, I’m just lazy.
