Default Akrapovic Install Labor Cost

For those of you who have installed the Akrapovic exhaust, may I know how much you were quoted/paid to have the work done?

I was recently quoted $1100 for 7 hours of work.
Does this seem like too much, just right or a good price? TIA

7 hours may be accurate if they don’t have a lift, need to go to the store to buy all the tools which they are charging you for and are including a paid lunch.

Yeah so I figured 7 hours seemed like a bit too long for just an axle back, I know the rear bumper has to come off but it seems 7 hours is awhile. What do you think is right?

What city/state are you located in? That will make a difference. If you are in So Cal or Arizona, i can give you some shop names that can give you a good quote and do high quality work.

I am in Brooklyn and paid $500 for installation of my Akrapovic Slip-on at a local shop. They did a good job and were done with it in about half a day.

$1100 seems steep. I was thinking $500-700.

7 hours is excessive for a slip on exhaust.

Porsche rear bumpers are not that complicated to remove and re-install.

I am in Brooklyn all the time! May I please know where you went to have this done? And how many hours they should quote me for this at labor rate?

It seems the consensus is that 7 hours is too much but no one is commenting on how long I should expect for it to be done. What is your opinion on the length of time it should take?

If you're installing this on a 992 you do not need to take off the rear bumper. My brother installed mine in his front yard with just a jack and a couple of jack stands in less than 2 hours.

I can only tell you my personal experience - I removed the bumper from my 991.2 Touring, installed an exhaust and put it all back together in about 4 hours. And that was the first time. I’d imagine doing it again would take about 3 hours or even less. I’d say that’s a rough ballpark for real time.

Your shop is probably charging book time, which will almost always be more.

I also paid around $500, but in Texas, this time last year. It was their first install on a 992. I would go with the shop that brianja recommends. They have experience now
