Default Redline Night vs. Day

Has anyone noticed that the redline increases to 8000 at night?

I guess they figure you'll need it for street racing?

Holy cow, 4,000 miles!

@zachr Denny is almost catching up to you. I'm only at 1,290 on my GTS.

It’s due to the change in gravity when the sun is on the other side of the earth. The effect lightens the rotating mass of the crankshaft. Basic physics!

Not sure if this a prank or not...the 8k marker is the only red one day or night.

The redline is 7500. I think I hit the revlimiter last night. Was going to a meeting and just as I saw the needle approaching "redline" I remembered that it was 7500 despite the only indicator being at 8000. I let off right around 7500, but think I just touched the rev limiter. It's pretty dumb that it's not red at 7500 at night. No big deal, but still dumb.

Not sure what you mean but the small ticks start red at 7400...the small ticks are just not illuminated at night.

Driving faster in the dark totally seems like a smart idea.

you realize i hope that there are different gears. You can do 5k rpms in 7th gear and be flying or 8000rpm in 2nd gear and be within the speed limit.

kind of a silly comment.

Instructions unclear, I ended up going 37 mph in 8th gear

He's certainly trying! Just checked, I'm at 6923 now. Without my kickoff road trip (~2300) it would be really close. I'm heading up to the north georgia mountains next week to make the most of all the goodies I've installed the past month or two, so I might hit 7500 by the end of the month.

Yeah, but I split my Porsche mileage between a 992 and Spyder.
