Porsche Design Subsecond Clock
FWIW, I got the regular sport chrono on my GTS, and it was one of those options I honestly didn't think about or investigate carefully enough....
Like some others, I'm a watch guy, and the look and functionality of the Porsche Design clock is just worlds better than the standard sport chrono. The only benefit of sport chrono on the GTS is that I got to color match the carmine red accent with the rest of the interior, including the tach.
But if I had it to do over again, I'd get the Porsche Design clock.

I find it rather ridicule that Porsche charges 1k to add an arm to the sport chrono dial. But hey, Porsche is Porsche. I use the digital time display on the sport chrono dial as the primary time display in my car (I use the spot in the PCM for outside temp and the one in the left instrument cluster dial for altitude). I find the single arm used for seconds annoying as it hides a portion of the digital display between 25 and 35 seconds. I would rather have the two arm analog clock, but I am not willing to pay one grand for that (yes, you call me cheap).
As for lap timing, the sport chrono dial is completely useless. The Track Precision app works through the PCM via CarPlay and provides much more efficient info.

I have the old design. I believe there was no option to select a different option. Or there was and I overlooked. To me the watch/stopwatch is pretty useless. Barely look at it while driving. I would opt out if I could, but it gets added with a Manual irrespectively. I'd rather get a nicer Analog/Mechanical for the wrist.

I am about to order and can't decide between the sub second clock option and the compass in Bordeaux? I am getting the Bordeaux interior so think the red clock and dial will go well -but the clock does seem nice. any thoughts? thanks
what did you decide? I ordered the stop watch with the Bordeaux but also like the sub second clock although you lose the ability to have the Bordeaux or whatever color to match the Bordeaux seats. - decisions like these kill me ...
I have the subsecond clock in my 22 GTS. It looks cool in the daylight, but the hands are invisible at night. Perhaps they increased the visibility on the newer models, but if not, I'd skip it. It annoys me every time I look at it (and can't see the hands).
I also cannot see the hands of the sub second clock at night.
At night if you take a flashlite and shine it on the clock for about a minute then turn the car on, the hands light up perfectly-unfortunately this only lasts about a minute.
I think the problem is that the luminescent hands do not get enough lite at to recharge the luminescent material-- maybe due to the hood over the clock?

I got the PD subsecond clock for the Panamera build and the regular for the 911 GTS.
I would have chosen this for the 911 as well if didn’t have to spec mine with the heritage design interior package which doesn’t allow the clock to be changed.
I’m also a watch guy and appreciate PD’s design on their timepieces.
