This thread makes me want to explore a retrofit option now.

I would trade either clock for a Homelink button on the bottom of the rear view mirror that actually worked like all my other cars!

That would be great. The diamond on the steering wheel has worked fine for me though.

I really hope I do not have to attach my garage door opener to my sun visor as I am somewhat technically challenged.

this solution works okay but is not great. Still just opens the homelink screen and then you need to press the screen again, Issue with that, when backing out of garage the rear view camera is shown and does not let the homelink screen come up. So, you need to manually close the rear view, press the diamond, then press the screen. Other option is to wait until rearview camera closes by itself...but that takes forever and requires to drive forward some.

Unless you want to use as a stop watch, the Sport Chrono Dial seems to be useless. Even the digital clock in the middle (at least in my C2) is too small to be functional. So, if $1k is not that material to OP, I would recommend the optional clock. At least it is functional and looks good.

This is very interesting. I did not know this.

From the config photo it seems like that digital clock in the middle is not there anymore?

OP's original posted picture didn't have the digital clock in the middle for some reason.

It just opens the garage door on mine. I have never seen the home link screen. I turn the home link location off. The diamond then just becomes an opener. Works about 3 houses away.

This is the best I have. I’m overseas right now so don’t have a closeup.

Although on the interior picture there does seem to be that small digital clock in the middle. Not sure why it's different to the actual option picture?

Mhm...you think turning the home link location off changes the behavior and the diamond directly operates the garage? I will try that but believe others have found before that opening the homelink screen was unavoidable. I have old PCM.

I think it may. When I first got the car I found the location based home link screen to be annoying. I turned that off right away. I then programmed the diamond and it has simply opened my garage door without doing anything on the PCM.
