Default Manual transmission

Hello I’m sure this might have been a popular topic,
Manual transmission drivers can I have some feedback please! I’m going back and forth and my order is locking in soon! Always had manual 911s and my 992 carrera base,no sport chrono was a little disappointing to me. My s will be here in December
thanks

As you can imagine, no right answer.

tend to feel if you’re at all unsure, get PDK.

manual drivers tend to be pretty committed.

Not sure I understand the question... are you asking about whether to buy another manual or specific feedback on the manual in the 992 S? If it's the former, not sure how the opinions of others will help you decide what you will enjoy more. I have owned MT and DCT/PDK cars... my 992 is MT. Next one might be a PDK. All about the mood I'm in when I buy a car

It's like an oil thread.....lol

No one can tell you what to get. You decide on your driving style and experience. If you enjoy coming off hard at stoplights, PDK wins by a long shot. Acceleration from a dead stop is not the manual trans forte, you will lose stoplight races that you would otherwise win with a PDK. If you like to street race or lap times matter, again PDK.

However, if you enjoy the Art of Driving, the manual box in the current 992 is magnificent and very rewarding. On a curvy road on an early Sunday morning, there is nothing better...

If you want manual, get it. Simple as that. If you want impressions, there are a ton of prior PDK vs. manual threads including a very active thread that's still on the front page here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1319...xperience.html

Read through that and search for the past threads if you want more opinions. Ultimately, just depends on what you want from the car.

Are you saying your 992 base is a PDK?

992 manual is quite good not great. Better than the 991 by a fair margin. If I had another good manual car, would probably get the PDK as something different.

I have a manual 992 as my daily and only car.

You cannot get a MT in a base car.

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that those who opt for the Manual Transmission also have: Wood Stoves to heat their homes, Dial Telephones on a Party Line, 8-Track Tape Decks, and would (if they could) order: Wing Windows instead of Air Conditioning, Drum Brakes and the 2-Way adjustable seats.

Everyone’s case is different. Here’s my advice from experience owning manual sports cars. If it’s your only car, then get the PDK. If it’s your second car (assuming other one is automatic) then go for the manual. I currently own a Macan Turbo, so I went with a manual, RWD GTS. Having said that, the 992 manual is fairly easy to drive. Just my .02.

If you were underwhelmed with the PDK the fist time, you’ll likely be again. The driver engagement is truly a different experience with a manual. I just received my manual and love it. Couldn’t imagine anything else….

The manual is good. Even better with a numeric shifter and exhaust which makes the shifts more enjoyable

I was disappointed that my MT did not include roll down windows or a manual choke.

I do wear a mechanical watch, use old cameras, and develop my own film. So your description isn’t that far off.
