How are targa allocations looking now?
Hi,
I was wondering how targa allocations are looking and if someone knows a dealer out there willing to order one at a discount off msrp. I'm not in a rush and would like to order one if I can get maybe 10 percent off. Before I get flamed I should clarify I'm willing to wait until those numbers are possible as they were in the past, or order now if someone knows a dealer out there that might do this. Thanks!

you can probably get a 997 targa for 10% off MSRP.

Unrealistic.
MSRP and an allocation within a year would be a win in today's market.

I've been looking at Targa 4 GTS, local dealer has no allocations, but will take a $5k refundable deposit to put name on list, they still wants $20k ADM although claim that by the time I get a car ADMs maybe a thing of the past and they would adjust the eventual sales price. I haven't put a deposit down since I also have been thinking about buying the car in the UK as I split my time between US and UK. I've seen a CPO 992 Targa 4 GTS with 1k miles for about 10k GBP over MSRP and its been on the dealer site for 6+ weeks. Given the state of the economy in the UK I'd expect I could get the car at or very close to MSRP. So its certainly tempting to get the car I want immediately, at MSRP, but when it comes down to it I think I'd rather have this car in the US rather than UK so haven't yet pulled the trigger.
I know UK market is different than US but while their still seems to be more demand than supply and with continued supply chain and other uncertainties in Germany it may continue for a while longer at some point it will change and if your in no hurry then waiting it out is a fine approach, which is what I may end up doing.

I ordered my Targa 4 GTS in uk in June ‘21. I got a dealer allocation in June ‘22. I have a PTS build slot in November.
I recently asked my SE at the dealer to inquire with Porsche GB about adding a bit of interior leather I’d missed. They said I could add it but any modification now would result in the loss of my PTS slot and aren’t any more available until after March ‘23.
That’s obviously PTS and a worse situation but it doesn’t look like Targa supply situation is improving thro into next year.

I think any Porsche ice cars are going to be a hard find far into the future. In order to meet strict eu emissions standards they halve to sell more and more electric cars to average their entire lineup. Additionally the entire 718 lineup has already been announced as all electric by 25. Just more demand for 911 and less supply.
