Not a fan of hybrid setup personally but I would not mind if Porsche offers a Hybrid 911 for those folks that want it.

I also really hate the all digital gauges. 991 had the perfect setup imo with analog and digital pod.

Listen, the 90s were great, and anyone in their 40s agrees with this.

I personally wouldn’t make such a leap. Porsche’s own 992.1 model release documents say the model was engineered to allow for electric hybridization. It makes sense for the 992.2 to start this. Between the 997.1 and 997.2, we went from port to direct injection, and added the PDK. Between 991.1 and 991.2, we went from NA to turbocharging. It’s likely we’re in for some big changes in April 2023.

The 992 model’s eight-speed PDK transmission will be 100 millimeters shorter, making room for a disc-shaped electric motor to fit behind the gearbox. Additionally, the transmission will be more powerful, with the ability to handle over 590 lb-ft of torque.

It might be hybrid, who knows, but the green battery by the fuel gauge or fuel consumption meter across every product under the VW umbrella says it’s about turning off the alternator.

If its simply KERS or a mild hybrid system, then how is it really different than, say, the introduction of DFI in the 997.2 generation?

DFI basically allows for the fuel mixture to be burnt more completely, thereby increasing efficiency, and reducing emissions and improving power output.

Same for KERS

We all survived DFI and enjoy to this day in the 992.

So just, deep breath, everyone, and relax.
