Recently purchased a EV sedan. Not a Tesla. It’s Swedish, so very sedate, non-threatening looking. It’s as fast as my M4…at least off the line/60mph.

On several occasions, I’ve enjoyed leaving trucks that had been riding my bumper, or wanted to cut me off as the lanes merged…. in my smoke…if I actually had smoke. 😎

Instant torque is a fabulous feeling.

Newer pick-up trucks are fast. Seems too many of their drivers here don't know when to back off. AZ can be pretty tolerant over 75mph, but even at 85mph, I have had pick-up trucks pulling fifth wheel trailers overtaking me at 90mph plus just to make a point. (They pull in and slow down to 65mph immediately after... sign) That's not any kind of competition I want.

Yes the C7 Z06 is pretty intimidating. Short shift into 3rd and stop it will leave 200 ft black marks and lots of smoke. Fun!

I’ll have to admit towing while in control at 80 is a nice cruising speed. Not the setup to even think about any roadway shenanigans.

I had the regular 460 hp engine which plenty fast. Never street raced even when young.

But when I get my C2S that's another story....... (just kidding)

The most ridiculous thing was yesterday at a light, a BMW 330 floors their car at the light, which I wasn’t sure what the point as their is another light coming up and they would have to break again. Sigh.

Come to think of it, I do see pick up trucks trying to be as fast as me on the highway. I don't really know if they are racing me (seriously?) or just want to show that they got the "stuff" to go fast as well.

+100 That for sure, except where I live which is a small Eastern town with less than 31K people. There are NO BMW M3's and I'm the only 992 (a LOT of people here build / restore and race 50's thru 70's American cars) so it's quite nice.

Now, as to what @Richard_Wallace said about Cincinnati, I experienced something different. When I had my Turbo, I always got "thumbs up" or a wave EXCEPT for Friday and Saturday evenings when it seemed like everyone wanted to race me. So much so, that I quit driving it on weekends during the evenings. But I also hooked up with a couple of car groups up there that were a lot of fun.

^ The Dodge Ram TRX can be tuned to 1012 HP and is ridiculously fast for a truck. I'm sure there are people out there who've done this

Interesting thread ...

I think I fall into many categories as I own a 911, a BMW and a Pickup. I NEVER tailgate (just because I don't want any rock-chips) - doesn't matter in which vehicle I'm in. I do however get 'challenged' quite often - again doesn't matter in which car I'm in. I believe it's for different reasons though. In the 911 it's mostly SUV's or total POS. They don't 'race' because they're faster .. they just want to let me know they hate people with 'nice' cars. Driving the pickup, it's mostly other pickups - they rolling coal lifted kinda kind (I've a silver F150, completely stock which is also a hybrid aka Powerboost ... I guess I'm a douche in the eyes of those Hillbillies and Rednecks). Only the Bimmer kids want to 'race'. Anyhow ... while my wife hates it and we get in an argument every single time ... I usually accept the challenge

Each and every Tesla wants to race me. Stop light, highway, regular street - you name it.

I have a manual, and while I could probably beat them on the highway, stop light will never work. Then again, street racing is dumb, so even if I had a car that could wipe their butts, I wouldn't even play the game.

Only had two cars try to race, and both were slow. Dodge Ram and 1990’s 8 series bmw. I have had plenty of soccer moms and dads in their Lexus SUV’s or similar go significantly over the speed limit around me. Like they just need to go faster than the Porsche. I do not notice this phenomenon when in my daily.

I got way more "race me" attention in my chalk 911 S than any BMW M car Ive owned, including my current 22 M3 x drive. Seems to me that anyone in a BMW below a M model drives like an asshat and or wants to race everyone. Most M owners are pretty chill. When it comes to 911's the Turbo guys would mess with me. Mclaren guys would too. But anyone else in a base, S or 4S, GTS would ignore me as if I wasn't next to them. Which I liked. lol.

I know there were a couple AZ posters to this thread, which is where I also live. My current Porsche is a 992 GT3 and it gets way more attention than I expected. My previous was a C4S and it got very little attention. I have been flipped off, tailgated, people wanting to race, thumbs up, and rubbernecking to the point of almost crashing. Really surprised that just adding a wing on the back makes so many other people react. A couple months ago I was being tailgated by a total POS and we passed a motorcycle cop. He immediately put his lights on and caught up to us. I thought I was getting a speeding ticket but instead he nailed the idiot behind me for following to close. Felt so good to see that happen. AZ definitely has its share of redneck morons.
