Anybody happens to know where I can order a new housing for the Chrono? Just the "roof" part. I know DB Carbon has them but would prefer a leather housing or something. Google search comes up pretty empty for me.
[QUOTE=dhirm5;18313417]You can have it covered with leather -- find a local upholsterer, I can't imagine it being too costly or time consuming.[/QUOTE
Thats an option but would want to buy a blank and not remove mine and wait until it’s done.
Make sure they know what they're doing, a lot of times the real small stuff is harder to do than the big stuff, coming from a guy who does a little upholstering.
You probably know the color of your interior fabric. One can order the housing from Porsche in the exact color and fabric that will match the rest of your interior. I'd imagine that it'd not be a low cost item (~$400-$500), but that is certainly one option to consider.

my interior is just black and I have not found where I could order such custom housing.

Talk to your Porsche Dealer Parts Department. There are close to 50 different Part Numbers for that Grill in Porsche Parts Catalog section 809-. The Part Numbers vary based on: With Chrono, Without Chrono, With Leather, Without Leather and if With Leather what the color of the Stitching is.

you misunderstand, just looking for the top housing of the chrono. Not the dash insert.
Not looking/asking to get that part from Porsche but look for a nicer aftermarket other than DB Carbon. Link or karbonization link
Tobeit, reach out to Frank at Exclusive Options. They specialize in this type of custom work, the quality is as good or better than factory, and you can customize any way you want. They’re a RL sponsor too. I’ve had quite a bit of work done by him, including this specific part, black leather with bordeaux contrasting stitch.

best,

Frank just did this one for me. I can confirm that it is two pieces though I ordered the entire grill assembly.

this looks super nice. The chrono with extra dial also looks quite nice. On my standard chrono the digital clock is barely readable.
I bought used and unfortunately the one option it did not come with is leather (and of course. I deviated stitching either). I wonder how difficult it is to update the dashboard to have the leather edge. To match the seats I would be even okay with just black stitching.
