If it isn't soft/gooey, most likely not the same issue. Mine (MY20) is getting replaced next month. Warranty, of course, although the UV tint will have to be redone. Oh well . . .

I had mine replaced last week. No issue at all with warranty cover.

Did you have it done in SoCal? I have an appt on Monday at South Bay. Is there a tsb or anything of the sort? Seems like they replaced yours pretty quick.

Annoying, have emailed the OPC to let them know.

Strange that it’s been damaged like that… do I need to worry but water leaking in anywhere etc?

Also if that part needed to be replaced, does that mean they need to replace the whole windscreen? Is that section just a rubber seal they can pull out from under? Tried to find diagrams of the part, but haven’t come across any.

Yes, Porsche Irvine did it when it was in for the most recent battery issue. Parts didn't seem an issue, it was done within the week.

No mention of any TSB or similar on the paperwork, all it took from me was a 'by the way' via email after I dropped the car off.

Am I starting to get the same issue mentioned in the thread or did someone at the OPC gorge my windscreen with a tool when ‘cleaning’ or whatever they were doing… it not soft or gooey.

That just looks like a gouge. I'm the OP and that bottom part of my windshield looks fine, it's the top and sides that have the deteriorating seal issue.

My 2020 S was replaced last month. Suncoast had to take pictures in November and file with Porsche comfort for approval. Replacement went smooth, looks like a different seal at the top of the windshield now.

Anyone had their windshield replaced and come back with wind noise from the replacement ? I had my windshield replaced per above , and now above 45mph there is a “whistling” noise coming from the top edge of the glass; and once above 70mph the noise just becomes evidently more of a wind noise etc.

I have an appt to bring it back to the dealer next week. It’s such a hassle and pain as the replacement “looks” great, but the noise ..

Same here on 2021 GT3. Tomorrow calling the dealer. Can this cause a window leak?

Good to hear this is a known issue as I was just about to post this! Noticed the same on my 21 C2S when I recently washed it. Was drying it with a microfiber towel and the towel was full of what seemed like black tar, super annoying! Thanks all! will call my SA.

Not as far as anyone has reported, and a lot of us have had this issue.

Does every 992 owner have this issue or is it just for some cases? Starting to get worried of my upcoming targa.
