If I am out of warranty what should I do? How much will this run me at the dealer?

Probably $3000 plus...and only original 4 year/50K warranty covers it. CPO doesn't. I was told that when speaking by phone with PCNA Atlanta.

I saw there is a recall on the wind shield and back glass but Porsche won’t start contacting the owners until mid April. Your car might be covered under the recall.

The dealer outsources windshield replacements, I’ve seen the OEM go for around $1k or so, get the dealer to recommend who they use. Then once done have the dealer re calibrate your camera (should be 1-2 hour dealer labor time charge)… so my estimate is $2-2500.

IMO it’s an aesthetic issue with the rubber seal, so maybe drive it more and after you get some rock chips etc, do it then since you’re paying out of pocket anyway

Yep! I had mine replaced Monday and it was $3500+. You are also correct about the 4 year/50k warranty.

It should be covered.

He should get it replaced ASAP. The molding breaks down significantly.

Just to help with some of the misinformation. Some dealers outsource the repair and Some do NOT (100% in house by Porsche tech). Just ask your preferred dealer if this is something important to you, how they do it.

Any idea when this will be an official recall from Porsche? I just checked my vin on recall.porsche.com and there are no open recalls. I have a 2016 911.
My bad I see this is for the 992. Please delete.

It's not rubber; it's polyurethane sealant.
I can't even see it in those photos. If it were my car, I would clean the smear with some denatured alcohol and leave it otherwise alone.
I think getting the windshield removed and replaced risks getting leaks or damage to the body of the car. I have had a car develop rust around the windshield in the corners after windshield replacement.

2022 C2s and my windshield also needs to be replaced. Service advisor said that they use a different sealant in the replacement.

Did you have to involve PCNA? My dealership is telling me CPO doesn't cover this - I have a 2019 Carrera T.

Same with my 2021 and the dealer said it was a problem on 911's and they under warranty would replace the windshield and use the new sealant. Easy fix.

Just had mine replaced. MY 21. SA said my CPO would not have covered it if I had brought in after 2025. Don’t know if this is true as previous post said it was CPO covered.
