Wow, they even admit right there in the manual that this opens up theft by fob cloning?

As I said it doesn't work on my 2021. Of course a how long a second is depends on which side of the bathroom door you're on.

If you press lock and unlock button simultaneously on your fob, hold for 3-5 seconds, Porsche crest lights solid, key is now asleep. No searching. You can leave it on the car, next to the car. Movement will not wake it. Press any button on the fob and it reactivates. Good to go.
Great hack BTW - well done!!!

@siberian our 21s vins are just a few hundred apart, so guessing they should be similar in this respect. The behavior on my key slightly different from the ‘21 manual description, but the outcome is the same (comfort access is off). When I press and hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, the light on the fob briefly lights up, then goes off. At that point comfort access is disabled. Give it a try?

Aha! That must be it. My COMFORT setting must be ON. I'll try that, thanks, must have missed that small detail.

2022 C2S w/ extended comfort access active. 14 months with original fob battery. I always lock car and store key 50 ft away when not in use.

I do wonder why Comfort Access would defeat the disabling of the key... but will try it.
