Yes the fobs are being stored no where near the car(>25" away). I cannot figure this out. I am stomped. Using new 3 year expiration date batteries.
The only thing I have not tried is Faraday bags which I just ordered.

Two defective fobs are unlikely. Also, I assume you mean the keys are stored greater than 25 feet away (and not 25 inches). Not that it matters but I've known people who leave the keys in the car when parked in their garage with no issues. Granted the cars weren't a Porsche but still.
Must be something in error on the vehicle side of things... Entry and Drive settings?

Where do you keep the key fob? Is it in a tight pocket that might be squeezing the button when you move ? Is it in a purse or wallet that might have something weighing enough leaning on top of it ?

Yes more than 25 Feet away.
Nope key fob button definitely not being pressed. Car sat for a week with both fobs sitting in my dresser way away from the car.
Like I said I'm stumped. Dealer service says not normal and blames faulty weak CR2032 batteries. But 4 times???? For now I guess I'll be buying them a dozen at a time.
I'm not stressing over it there are way worse problems to have...i carry a spare with me now like I said I'm just stumped.
On the plus side, I'm getting REALLY fast at replacing the batteries.

I started a thread a few weeks back... Take a look and some of what I am also trying (see thread below). Have now bought a faraday box, storing my keys (both main and spare) 40' from the car. I will see if that makes a difference..
I do have a feeling on 2022s (maybe the 2021s as well) they have changed the behavior of the key fob. I think it is continually searching. My 2020 992 C4S did not have this problem after 1.5 years (before I got the 2022 992 Targa 4s). Never a problem with the 2020 992 having a key fob battery issues.
I think it has something to do with the activation of the door handles, as it was not available (or activated) on the 2020 992s.. The only way the car would know to open the handles is the key fob continually sending signals. So it must be continually pinging. If this is the case, in about 3 months (my key fobs have been lasting around 3-4 months before low battery warning). With them far away and in a faraday box, if they are constantly pinging, it won't matter. I am in week 2 of my test, but I am betting it makes no difference, as I believe they are constantly "alive".

I have a different but similar key fob problem. One of my 2020 992 and 2020 Macan S (yes to different key fobs) are not recognized by the car. This started happening about the same time for both. I've replaced batteries in both key fobs to no avail. I also had the 992 key fob reprogrammed at the dealership, still no good. Now the dealer wants me to bring my car and key fobs back so they can discuss next steps with PCNA. I don't really want to leave my car while they "research" this problem.

Since you’ve changed batteries several times to no avail, I’d try turning off Location Services next. There’s got to be a simple solution to this.

You can try turning off the bit in comfort access which makes the door handle present itself without pressing unlock. I finally found and turned _on_ that option yesterday, after weeks of wondering why the handle doesn't present itself when I walk up. The option was off from the factory.

My ‘20 is also going thru batteries relatively fast, but not as bad as OP’s. Probably every 5 months or so. I do store them very close to the car…

Still on my first set since January. I had switched off “unlock when approaching” from the beginning, since my keys are not that far away. Works so far.

You know, I used to store an emergency fob in my dresser and would get calls from the police department that they were at my home but I was in another state or country. After a few of these mishaps it ended up being the location of the dresser. When the sun was setting, our home faces the Pacific Ocean, the heat from the sunset was contracting the fob button and setting it off. Maybe your fob is enabling daily due to direct sunlight?

What’s the expiration date of the batteries? Did you get them at a local store or did you order them online? You could try getting a couple of batteries from the dealer, who are then less likely to say it’s the batteries.
The other thing common to the fobs is the car. Perhaps there’s an issue there.

At this point, I don't think it is a battery issue guys.
