If you go to post #169 on this thread there are pics of the exposed rear harness
Below is a link to a copy of the Porsche install instructions.

So it seems the yellow connector is to receive video from the rear camera. Looking at this image, it looks like a micro BNC or similar round video connector. Power is on the rear boxy black connector.
Also it seems the camera itself has a USB-C plug (plus two guide things).

If anybpody has the rear harness - the yellow round connector and the black boxy connector, going into a TRRS minijack connector - can you check which ring is for the yellow round connector? That would help a lot. Thank you.

That piece is simply held in place by typical trim clips. It will have to come off partially to feed the 2 large cylindrical bits into the prewired connector space. It simply pulls off.
the video connector is center left wrapped in black friction tape - hidden toward front of car by the power connector

@patel1283 the video is private. Is it an RCA connector? I want to add a rear camera

I finally had time on Saturday to install the Porsche Dashcam with a good friend of mine. Couple of things to note.
(1) I have a 2024 "T" and I didn't realize that the passenger side microphone grill doesn't house an actual microphone, but the screen, so you have to remove that. Don't just yank on that trim panel without removing that screw.
(2) For the rear camera, the harness is on the DRIVER side of the rear window and NOT on the passenger side. It's a tight fit back there, so take your time to remove the panels. Have a spotter outside looking in to help locate the harness which is all wrapped up felt tape, so use a small blade to remove the tape to plus in the rear camera cable. Also all six of the foam pieces and 12 zip ties they provide to keep everything nice and tight so that it doesn't rattle once you assemble the trim panels back.
Finally, you will have Airbag Passenger warning appears on your instrument cluster if you don't plug in the electronic pieces back where the front Dashcam harness connect into the cable. But once you do that, the error messages go away within a few seconds of powering up the Porsche.
I will say that the video and audio quality using the included 32GB memory card is pretty good.
Videos are in 1 minutes timestamps around 220MB in size.
Video Resolution = 2560 × 1440
Video Format = MPEG-4 AAC, HEVC in HDR
Audio Rate = MPEG-4 AAC, 48000 Hz in MONO
Data Rate = 24.00 Mbit/s
Color Profile = HD (1-1-1)
Date (YYYY/MM/DD), Time (HH:mm:ss) along with Long and Lat (in DD format) and speed are superimposed in the video in the upper left corner and are updated every second.
I now need to play with the settings because the shock sensor is way too sensitive while driving...
The Porsche Mobile App (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/porsch...m/id1554449896) is really bad. I would recommend you pick up a (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/M...sd-card-reader) instead and leave it in the Porsche so you can view your footage on your iPhone while on the go.

Here is what I've also discovered to make things work much easier with CarPlay.
(1) Make sure to configure the Porsche Dashcam to automatically connect to your 911's Hot Spot
(2) When using CarPlay, your iPhone already had a connection to your 911's Hot Spot.
So when you want to use CarPlay, just use it as you do today.
When you want to access your Porsche Dashcam, make sure to go into iPhone SETTINGS > GENERAL > CARPLAY > [Your Car Name'] and turn off CarPlay. This means that your iPhone is now connect to the 911's Hot Spot just like the Dashcam. Then bring up the Porsche Dashcam app and it will connect to the Dashcam through your 911's Hot Spot. From there you can view pre-recorded videos, and even download them to your iPhone. When you're all done, make sure to turn on CarPlay gain on your iPhone and you're all set.

My 992 is pre-wired for the dashcam and I'm trying to decide if it to use it for the Track Precision App (I'd only ever want the Dashcam for recording laps on track).

I found something weird. For Live View, I can see both the front and rear, but while driving or being parked, I only ever see the front camera recording. When does the back one get used?
