Default carpet rear shelf mat

recently I noted an unexpected advantage of placing a carpet rear shelf mat over the folded down rear seats.
It has been a year since I contorted myself to clean the back window. Anyone who has attempted
to clean this interior surface, knows that it is an uncomfortable ordeal I had heard that leather, exposed to direct sunlight, will sweat,
leading to a deposit on the rear window interior.
Now that I have placed this rear shelf mat, it seems to be blocking this sweat, and the window remains clean and does not require cleaning.
anyone else has noted this ?

I have the Lloyd frunk mat, rear shelf mat and the mat for the folded down rear seats (…all sourced from either High-End Motorsports or Suncoast). I haven’t had my 992 long enough to draw much comparison, but so far my rear window hasn’t exhibited what you describe. I don’t drive with my windows down so that also goes a long way in keeping my interiors clean. I have Crystalline 70 all around so that keeps the heat down considerably.

Hopefully, you can minimize having to clean the inside of the rear window. Getting back there is very difficult.

That "New Car Smell" is due in a large part to the plasticizers being released by the various plastic components in the interior. Some of this condenses on the inside of the windows. As a car and its components age this phenomena decreases as does the noticeable accumulation on the windows.
FWIW "Plasticizers are low molecular weight substances added to a polymer solution to promote its plasticity and flexibility." Plasticizers make plastic bits and pieces of the interior flexible and soft to the touch.

Leather does not sweat - that's a new one on me and I'm in the leather business! Bluehighways has it right, its off-gassing from the interior plastics that cause that light film in the windows.

The easy way to clean the rear window is to move your drivers seat all the way forward and the seat back as flat as you can make it. Then you can recline in the seat and reach the window to clean it.

And wish I could find the mat.

I'm 6 6 240, the back seat in a 992 is something I will never experience.

Looking to buy the rear deck mat with the Porsche name on it, Lloyd’s it seems no longer allows you to do that. Tried Suncoast, same deal. Anybody know a work around for this? Was able to get it done for my last 2 Porsches. I guess they lost the license.

Used is your only option. Lloyd will not do it.
