Default Apple car play

Trying to figure out if you can make Apple Car Play the full screen of the PCM or is it always shown with some of the Porsche Apps?

it does seem it should go full screen to make it easier to see and use

You cannot. It is split screen only (unfortunately).

Thanks for confirming. It’s odd as most other manufacturers have figured this out.

It’s deliberate, not a lack of ability to implement.

I have full screen Carplay. Paid a company based in Taiwan/Korea (I forget) to hack my PCM.

not 100% sure that is correct. A quick Google shows lots of car manufacturers don’t have it. I seem to remember it was an Apple thing.

My CarPlay is full screen, other than a thin strip of Porsche icons on the left. I have a 2022 - my understanding is that they made a change at some point from the split screen but I haven’t heard of older PCMs able to be upgraded by the dealer.

MY22 cars have PCM 6, which supports full screen CarPlay. MY20-21 cars have PCM 5 which doesn't.
