Default The sunroof switch drives me NUTS

Venting here..
I get it - they thought "we will make it like the window switch - push down to open, pull back to close". But seriously, that's the direction the window is going (push down to lower, pull up to close) - the sunroof is pulling open and pushing closed. Told my dealer to reverse the switch. I don't think they can or will
Drives me crazy.

Flame suit on...

Shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. How handy are you with a multimeter?

It is confusing and counterintuitive. Never figured out why they did that but your explanation makes sense...I got used to it but still have to remind myself. My wife fumbles with these two switches everytime and gets frustrated every time. Let us know if you found a way to reprogram that.

100% agree! I have to think before doing it every time!

This just drives me nuts too. I tell myself what’s the opposite of the natural direction and that works every time. The irony is I bet they had a meeting and a presentation deck on this….

The parking break seems counter-intuitive as well. I always try to pull to engage when if fact you have to push it down.

Same here...I guess we just need to do the opposite of what is intuitive and all will be good.

Porsche engineers have assumed their clientele are clever enough to solve these complex problems.

Now let's be real - the interior of the 992 is like a step back in ergonomic time.

Now that's a bit harsh. Unlike many other cars there are actual buttons for many things even though that's not obvious at first. There's also actual dials for volume and moving around the PCM, the PCM screen itself and the instrument panel are recessed so glare isn't an issue also unlike so many other current vehicles, and they give you a nice place to rest your wrist when doing things on the PCM.

Sure the cup holder situation is not ideal, especially for those of us with manuals, and the window switches are too far back for easy use. But overall I find it works really well.

Well... not to turn this into a bash the engineers who came up with the 992 interior but...
Pre 2022 cars - 10-20 second wait before you can actually do anything since everything is booting up (seriously, on a 2020 vehicle?)
Garage door opener in the PCM - that does not turn on when in reverse and occasionally decides to turn on based on GPS - forcing us to get the old fashioned garage door opener. Seriously, haven't had one of these in 30 years?
TWO, and I mean TWO assignable buttons - had like 16 in my BMW at one point.
There are many more - the car driving experience helps make you forget about some of these things, but seriously, on a car produced after 2020, some of these are just laughable.
And that damn sunroof switch Seriously, you shouldn't have to "think" about some of these things..

what befuddles me is that there are 3 buttons for the sunroof - 1 to open, 1 to close, 1 to pop up vent/close vent. In other cars (Audi, Acura) i've had, it's been 1 button/switch or 2. The open/close can be 1 bidirectional switch. Don't know why they made it into 2. I liked the Audi dial switch. Easy to just turn it to a certain point to specify how open you want it. The push/pull to open vent/close vent. So intuitive and easy.
