I realized that I have been referring to my new order wrong. To be more precise, I, like almost everyone else, omitted the ER (extended range), an extremely important performance variant notation out. From now on, I must remember to correct myself and refer to my car as the ER model. After all, while the lowest and highest end of vehicle spectrum (Honda fit vs Airbus) make no pricing distinction with regards to color, operational range is extremely important for differentiating airbus models. In fact I argue in places like Cambodia or Ukraine today, or situations such as zombie apocalypse or meteor impact evacuations, range is the single most important performance metrics setting 992s apart from each other. I encourage all of you to from now on not forget to mention whether your car is the 4SER (extended range) or GTSLR (long range aka regular range)
I dont get it. Many people identify their cars as S with a MT vs my S is a PDK but not range why? I think extended range is a far more important performance characteristic and presented a strong case for it. If you dont agree, you can join a civil discourse instead of dismissing my premise silly. I must question whether you regret for not opting for the extended range 911 yourself

Following your "logic" then anyone who believes an option is "important" as a "performance characteristic" then FAL, RAS, PDDC, Sport Chrono, Sport Exhaust and PCCB should be included too. So a car with your nomenclature could be a 992C2S RAL FAS PCCB Sport Exhaust PDDC. Now do you see how ridiculous your idea is? And for what it's worth, an extended range fuel tank is not a performance option to me regardless what Porsche calls it but a convenience option instead.

You simply cannot have a 4SER as the C4 and C4S as well as GTS4 and Targa4S (not to mention the TT/TTS) as none of the AWD variants of the 992 can feature the extended range tank.

thats a good point thanks for correcting me. It reminds me of the trade off planes make between carrying more passengers (longer body) vs flying farther (shorter body to save weight). Its a performance trade off anyone buying this car needs to consciously make. Do I want to drive farther, or do I want to drive well in snow? After all, most electric cars charge more for longer range even if it doesnt cost them anything (eg tesla ships their cars with same battery but simply software locks a portion of it).
