Default I just do not get people

i went to the gym this morning and clearly parked near Siberian and come back an hour later. From far away I was about to lose it but in the end there was actually a spot in between. Apparently the Accord driver also wants to avoid door dings!

This is like the guy who doesn't understand proper urinal etiquette. Plenty available a few feet away but he chooses the one next to you!

OMG I would have lost it also. You get mad and then walk up and there is a space in between you both. That’s hilarious.

Maybe he was just trying to elevate himself by association.

OR, since the Accord and Camry are the most stolen cars every year, he was giving would be thieves the natural obvious and easy choice to take his car over yours. It was likely a selfless act.

Although this is a few years old comedian Tom Mabe addresses this parking issue in this prank.

IMHO parking way out of the way brings too much attention to one's car. I feel safer parking in a closer end space very near the side curb.

That is indeed irritating. My guess is that the person is just a moron, and unthinkingly "lined up" next to the only other car on the lot.

don't see a problem. Its normal that on an empty lot people tend to park to other cars...and he left a space in between. I don't bother - I park where there is a space and on an empty lot like that I park right in front of the entrance.

from afar it looked like he was parked in the spot next to me. I guess I could have shown the wider lot to just show how wide open. Guess they wanted to give me some company.

I get that...just herd behavior, people are attracted to where things are. Happens all the time in live. I actually park intentionally closer to areas where people are or people can see it...to avoid someone trying to smash the window and rob stuff or get the entire car. The more obvious parked, the better.

Maybe he wanted to admire your car! and wanted a closer look. That is what I believe. He left a space between you and your car. Lighten up its only a car.

Who really thinks a Porsche driver is the only one that "deserves" to park in the outer areas of a lot? Come on Ken/Karen.

Ken?

Anyway, his point was that he parked far away to avoid ppl parking next to him. He comes out, and lo and behold, someone went out of their way to park their heap next to his 911.

Closer inspection revealed that the offender was a space away, so no harm, no foul.
