Accord guy just wanted to park closer to check out your car and was courteous enough to skip a spot. If we all looked at things with a more positive perspective we would all live a few yrs longer from not spazzing out over every perceived slight.
OR, the Accord driver was doing the 992 driver a solid and protecting the car by not allowing some other jackass to park too close to it.
This reminds me a lot of my father who, in the winter, consistently parks his winter vehicle next to the nice cars that purposely park far out in the parking lot like this. His rationale is not to be spiteful; but rather, to protect them. He happens to be a classic car collector and is just trying to do a good deed.
(guys I don't think OP is actually mad at accord driver... title is misleading vs content of the post)
That said, I'm that guy all the time. If I'm worried a lot will fill up I'll park one space away from somebody. People will take any spot that isn't between two others so you basically guarantee one side stays empty in that situation. Its a smart move.
