0-60 times
Just wondering if anyone has had real world experiences with 0-60 times with launch control for base 911 992? I know specs say 4 seconds, but wanted to see if anyone has gotten better than that with launch control in sport mode. I don't have chrono sport, but if someone would have good ideas of tracking it without that would be great!

I've seen many videos...and I think Porsche numbers are conservative compared to what they post. Even the published HP rating is lower than actual

Just pulled some 0-60 times on my stock 992S…using dragy (very accurate): The conditions were not ideal, so sure it will drop. This is with PDK and sports chrono.
1st run at 3.25 sec
2nd run at 3.11 sec
C&D (I believe) had the S at 2.9x sec.

The times quoted above were “certified” runs. One of the things dragy does is determines/calculates the slope (if there is any) on the road you were using. In my case, after about 1/8 mile, the run was not certified because there was a slight upward grade. Looking at the road, it appears fairly flat, but after a closer inspection, part of the road did have a slight slope to it….which negated any runs longer than 1/8 mile.
I’m now looking for a different location that’s flat out to about 1/2 mile, with minimal/no traffic. That’s not easy to find where I live.

My C2 shows 3.6 seconds to 60 on Dragy. No sports chrono.
The C2 is the performance bargain.

Impressive times; does Dragy do the 1ft rollout that C&D does?

3.5 seconds pretty consistent (book sez 3.7 seconds) with sport chrono in sport plus mode using launch. As stated above Porsche is conservative with its numbers.
I will add, I have had my C2 for a couple of months and love it. Great vehicle for twisty roads and street driving, really good for under 80 mph driving. Anything above that the other models of 911 clearly outshine the base by acceleration, power and handling. Happy heavy foot.

Thx…but I did nothing. Right now, I’m just trying to benchmark some times before I do the M-Engineering tune. But dragy automatically defaults to the 1ft rollout…which I believe has become the standard now with most times reported including that. However, in the custom setting, you can eliminate the 1 ft rollout. The way I look at it, when comparing times, I’ll go with the flow of what the de facto standard is.
With today;s cars that have “launch” capabilities, you really have times that reflect:
- Launch activated (1ft)
- Launch activated (no rollout)
- No Launch activated (old time street drag) …really my favorite when doing red-light to red light against another car. Just mash the gas and go.
By the way, I contacted dragy directly to find out what their tests have shown as far as the accuracy. They told me it’s accurate to between 0.02-0.03 sec. These are compared to many times determined at a drag strip, using laser-to-laser times, which is the gold standard.

@Tobeit the S has better brakes and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) that the base does not have, as a couple of differences.
