Default Dealership Allocation Intervals

My dealer mentioned they will know if I can get I to a new allocation at the intervals in which they get allocations from the factory. Are intervals country wide and similar on date or how does that work?

I believe that allocations are released quarterly to the dealerships. They may occasionally get an extra allocation or two between, but the biggest batches come together.

Others may be able to speak to what months are allocation release months.

My SA says late April / early May 22 is when they expect their next batch. Last batch was Jan/Feb.

Rusnak/Westlake Porsche has a bunch of allocations available right now; but you have to be local.

I've been told that (quarterly) allocations have been arriving late the last year or so. All dealers get them at the same time. Dealers sometimes get extra "performance" related allocations in addition to regular allocations. Due to the ship sinking and 1,000+ Porsches lost, all dealer allocations have been reduced (by 20%??) to allow Porsche to rebuild the lost cars.
My local dealerships are also limiting the awarding of allocations to local customers.

Is this speculation or inside knowledge (the tone is meant to be inquiring not challenging). While 1000 cars is a significant loss in whole numbers, it is about .33% of annual production so not as significant on a relative basis and I would not expect it to result in a 20% reduction in allocations.

My SA in Northern Virginia said that they expect I will receive a 4S allocation at the end of April. We'll see.

I did read that Porsche confirmed the 1,100, but can’t find the source.

As a side note, there were 15 Aventador Ultimaes on the ship, and the ceo confirmed the other day they were able to startup the supply chain again to rebuild them.

Out of 350, the very first Ultimae is here in Columbus.

I agree with the number of Porsches lost. I think that has been pretty broadly reported. I was questioning to 20% reduction in allocations which I have not heard elsewhere before.

Is it 20% of March-April allocations or 20% of annual allocations. I would think the replacement of 1100-1400 (been reported both ways) vehicles would have a substantial effect on March-April 2022 allocation release.

I agree and I am not challenging that. But I am curious where the quote of 20% came from and whether there is support for it. Even monthly production is 25000 cars, so if you are going to reduce allocations one for one for each car that needs to be replaced, it is still only 4% on monthly production and allocations seem to come out roughly quarterly. 20% of the 75000 cars produced quarterly would be 15,000 cars. 20% of just one month's production is still 5X as many cars as were lost. Just trying to understand the math.

I agree with you in principle. But I do not believe we should be looking at world production. Rather, we should consider Porsche US sales and US allocations which is ball park about 48,000 a year. The Felicity Ace was delivering cars to the East coast of North America. That would make US production quarterly allocation about 12,000 a year or 3,000 a quarter or 1,000 a month. So, the percentage depends on whether you are talking US production and whether you are analyzing the annual, quarterly or monthly allocation. I think one can safely say that the Felicity Ace disaster probably ate up most all the April US east coast allocations and probably some of the May allocations too. As to what is the exact percentage...you are correct.....who knows????? Then again, Porsche may have given US east coast dealers extra allocations out of fairness. It could also shift some Europe or Asia allocations to US cars to help out. Again.....who knows for certain??????
