Default 992 Owners With Standard Interiors

I'm fully aware of wanting the interior space to be a nice place as that's where you're spending time while behind the wheel. However, I'm thinking that the standard interior offerings might hold up better over time. I'm curios to know, do you have any regrets in selecting a standard interior versus leather?

Once you hit the gas peddle and hit some twisties your really not going to care how nice your stitching looks.

I'd like to see photos of standard v leather pointing out the differences. I'm going full leather, but without any real conviction that standard is meaningfully worse.

I had the standard on my 2020 992 C4s and have full leather (for the most part) with my 2022 992 Targa 4s (I got the sport-tex seats) thus dash, seats, etc. etc are leather with deviated stitching.

I will say I was 100% satisfied with the standard interior. Nothing fancy, and the full leather is nice(er), but I thought the standard interior was fine, and cannot say that anyone that was a passenger in it commented on it being bad (or realized it was not full leather). Same goes with the 992 Targa - everyone comments on the throw back cloth seats, not sure anyone noticed having full leather - outside the deviated stitching a few people commented on.

The full leather is nicer, both should hold up well if properly cared for. If not in a garage, the leather on the dash might wear quicker (as has some of my previous 911's over the years with sun and age). I would suspect the standard would hold up a tad better in that regard.

I bought preowned so didn't have much choice but ended up with a gentian blue over standard black. The standard black, with carbon fiber trim, looks and feels pretty good to me, but if unsure you really need to find some cars to sit in and decide for yourself

Nope. Had 3 911's over 14 years, all with standard interior and never regreted it. Ordered this current one and didn't add it, would say though that that if it a more reasonable cost I may have been tempted. But at $3k+ in the US nope.

I have standard interior in black and it's just great in my opinion. My car was optioned more for sport / performance items so I have SD side skirts, larger fuel tank, sport chrono, PSE, RS Spyder wheels, etc. instead of the extra leather with stitching. NO regrets whatsoever. I've seen a few base 911s with full leather BUT base wheels, no sport chrono, no PSE, etc. and I ask myself "why" other than to try to hold the line on price. To each their own - that's what is so nice about being able to essentially order a car ala carte off a menu.

I have the standard interior with 18 way seats. I am happy and don't really notice the interior when I am driving on the backroads. On my next order I'll think about the leather just for something different or adding deviated stitching.

I have the standard interior with 4 way ventilated seats and I am perfectly happy with comfort, adjustment and how they look.

There are no wrong choices when it’s what YOU want.

This is where you live while driving. A lot of the other stuff you only see after you're parked. Base your decision on those simple realities.

I was all in on standard interior due to a self imposed budget. I made a trip to the dealer prior to my freeze date and was able to see and sit in some customer cars. Seeing the interiors in person was eye opening. Needless to say I adjusted my budget and opted for full leather. Every time I sit in the car my eyes are drawn to the dash, first and foremost. The biggest difference for me on the standard vs leather interior was the dash, among other bits.

I have bought several cars with standard interior . When younger I could barely afford the car at all so a premium for leather was the first to get cut . Its not terrible to do this and financially it was a better move . However the interior is where one spends all of his time .Its also the first thing any passenger sees . One big issue was that in the hot Fl sun the dash and door panels peel . Its covered under warranty but once thats over its very expensive to repair.

I have the standard interior and I am completely happy with it, no regrets. I am not going to say that the leather dash doesn't look good because it does, but I was trying to keep to a budget for one and two I wonder how well the leather will hold up on the dash several years down the road. When I am in the car driving it I certainly do not notice one way or the other. In my opinion (for what it is worth) the majority of options on the car are basically fluff they don't make the car any better maybe a little nicer but the basic car is awesome on its own.
