Default 911S Vs GT3 Touring

Could someone much more knowledgeable than I am please tell me some of the differences between a 992 911 Carrera S and a GTS Touring.

Many thanks!

The Carrera S at least gives you a chance to become an owner without having to pawn off one of your kidneys…

The GT3 is a LOT more expensive, and you will likely wait until Hell freezes over to get one.

But to answer the OP’s question - The GT3 is designed for the track, first and foremost…while the 992S is primarily a street car, that you can take to the track.

Chris Harris swears by the GT3 Touring - 991.2 anyway.

CH has a 992 touring on order. His current touring was bought second hand.

OP: Comedians above are messing with you. Your question is a reasonable one. Plenty of people, myself included, have considered both the C2S and GT3T. Mechanically they are quite different but depending on the owner the use case for them could be fairly similar. I DD my GT cars, will DD my GT3T and would DD a C2S had I gone that way. I wanted a bit more sports car feel and was willing to sacrifice some luxury and comfort to get it. Comes down to personal preference IMO. Of course the process of acquiring a new GT car is a tremendous hassle for the uninitiated.

I think that you’ve confused folks by referring to the GTS as the “GTS Touring”. There isn’t such a car.

There is a GT3 Touring which is a GT3 without a wing and just a little more weight (powered spoiler is actually heavier than the GT3’s standard wing). It also gets a front fascia in exterior color with the 992. The GT3 Touring is a distinctly different driving experience from the Carrera cars and priced into a different tier.

The Carrera GTS is a Carrera S with center lock wheels, alcantara/racetex interior, less sound proofing, popular performance features like SPASM as standard equipment, and a modest bump in horsepower.

If you are loading up a Carrera S with performance options and the Sport Design package, you should also build out a GTS to cross shop, because it’s possible to save money (presuming MSRP) as the GTS bundles a lot of options together.

If you have to ask the difference between a 911S and GT3 Touring... I think you should buy the 911S.

If you have to ask, you probably don't have the option to buy a GT3T period, let's be real.

I'm sure the dealer is sitting by the phone with a C2S and GT3T allocation in hand, waiting to hear which one OP will take.

Sorry OP, can't help but be a smart *** about it. Like others said, the GT3T is a naturally aspirated, track optimized car with a peaky engine and aggressive sports suspension set up with lower ride height, stiffer springs and sway bars. It's a track car that can be daily driven. It's hard to find and typically sold well above sticker.

The C2S is an all-rounder sports car with concessions to comfort and a flexible powertrain with strong low end torque that all make it ideal for driving around town. It's a daily driver sports car that can be tracked.
