The commission traditionally is 25% of the dealerships profit on the vehicle and then higher percents for meeting sales goals. Things may have changed now that discounting is non existent and that 25% of dealer profits may be 2-3K+ on a luxury car. On a 911, I believe the dealer profit is 12-15% at MSRP.

Just spoke to my SA this morning, the wiring harness issue will affect 911 production but he stated more than likely they're going to get out as many 911's as possible before the end of the month. April production and beyond are expected to have "some" delays...

I am curious in that photo, it mentioned “the March production”. Is it means this is all about this March? In April, there will be an another producing plan?

I read Jalopnik often. I tend to enjoy the site's content. Unfortunately, this story screams old news. The Drive had a similar story last week. Since then others have commented and suggested that 911 production will not be as drastically impacted as The Drive story suggested, I have a 911 GTS build scheduled for April 8. According to my AD I am still scheduled for production. Obviously, things can change, but as of right now I think 911 production is moving forward.

I unfortunately think that Jalopnik is suffering from some sort of regime change. Their editor (can't recall his name) David Tracy (awesome content) and Jason Torchinsky have all left in the last few weeks. It appears David Tracy and Jason Torchinsky are starting their own site.

One thing after another. This is unfortunate. On the bright side, you probably don't want a car that is being made in such an uncertain environment anyway. With all this distraction, I would imagine that there will be quality issues in manufacturing when people's safety is at stake.

I would think so. The situation is getting crazier by the day.

Several sources are now reporting that Porsche is resuming production on Macan, Panamera, and the Taycan within the week. So, raise a glass for the folks managing vendors and supply chain within Porsche. 🍻 Somebody pulled a rabbit out of a hat here.

In the meantime prices for used 992s go through the roof. The attached is for sale for $228k with an original MSRP of $158k...
