UPDATE - see my original post above. Just got this notice from dealer "We will replace the battery for you. We do have that battery in stock as well. I can get you scheduled next week if that works for you?"

NEW UPDATE - installation scheduled for today.

LOL enjoying the pain of owning a Porsche, that is hilarious. Batteries damaged by an unreliable complicated electronic component of the charging system and even worst, Porsche dealerships
saying "NOT covered by warranty" it is scaring the hell out of me! I am seriously considering cancelling my order for a '24 C-2. I am sure I can get my deposit back.

Meh, there is no perfect car out there. You can pick any brand, they all have issues of one sort of another. I happend to have (3) Porsches in my garage right now ('20 Macan S, '21 Cayenne GTS. '21 992 S Cab) all bought new and not a one of them has been in for warranty work.

But if you buy outside of your comfort zone than you'll never really enjoy the vehicle.

Model Year 2022 & 2023 992S in the US come with an AGM battery unless you ordered the RAS option. I wanted RAS but declined the option solely because I did not want the Porsche lithium battery and it’s issues. Do not know whether MY 24 992’s without RAS come with AGM battery but would find out before I ordered.

I agree, there aren't any perfect cars specially the latest models with a more advance and complicated technology. What puts me outside of a comfort zone is Porsche trying to get out of honoring a warranty.

Yes, it will be a good idea to find out what kind of battery, my order also doesn't include RAS, of course there are several posters that had or are having charging system problems even with AGM batteries.
Just the same, I think I'll contact my SA.

True…but when Porsche wrongfully dishonors the warranty, you can go to any auto parts store anywhere or Walmart even and buy a replacement AGM battery for less than $200. The Porsche proprietary lithium battery is $2500 and it is shipped from Germany in the next 30 days if you are lucky? Number 1 bulls@#!

As I explained to a Regional PNA Rep, customer loyalty is a fickle thing...

Yes of course, it wouldn't be a problem replacing it with an aftermarket battery it doesn't cost that much. My concern is when batteries only 1- or 2-years old need replacement and a Dealer tells you that the charging system needs repairing.
and point blank tells you the warranty won't cover the battery and or the charging system...on a car that supposably comes with a 4-year warranty. At least that is the impression I got by reading several posts in different forums.

A '24 C2 won't have a lithium battery, at least for US customers you need to have RAS. In Canada that is a different story, eh?

That's been the current situation. If you have RAS you have LiFePO4 if not you have an AGM.

I already reached out to the SA to find out which type of battery would come with the car. Hope it is AGM.
