Default Damaged my aerokit bumper :(

hi guys , looking for advice on how to proceed about this. So I damaged my front aerokit bumper and was wondering if detailing people are usually good at fixing this kind of damage or should I leave it alone and live with it ? What should I expect to pay for someone fixing this if that's even a possibility ? I just don't want to go somewhere and because they see a 911 they feel like they can charge anything they want and it doesn't even look perfect afterwards. Any word of advice on this would be great , thanks!

That’s likely beyond what a detailer can fix if you want it perfect, but they can likely touch it up and improve it.

If you want it perfect, that’s going to be a trip to a Porsche certified body shop, they will re and re bumper and refinish the entire bumper. I don’t know for sure, but I would ballpark estimate something around $2K to refinish the bumper.

If I can ask, how did this happen?

To answer your question, I would get a couple of quotes, with one of them from a reputable place that either you have dealt with before, or recommended by your dealership…and go from there. If obscenely expensive, based on your budget, I would touch up myself and live with it. It really doesn’t look terrible, and a little touch up, from a distance…you might be the only one that notices? Good luck.

Didn't see something in a construction zone while parking, and the sensors didn't sense it either. Just a mistake, thanks for the advice!

I feel ur pain.

But it really doesn’t look that bad. If you have the money, and time, get it fixed back to perfect….but I think what I would do is try to make it look better, myself. What do you have to lose if it doesn’t turn out to your satisfaction? Then take it in for repair.

Accept the imperfection and enjoy the car. You can always get it addressed after the next scrape or bump in the future.

Chris Harris had a great YouTube video that included all of the patina on his 50k mile GT3 Touring.

That’s the sort of stuff I’d fix at home. Little bit of body filler, block it with some sandpaper and if you can’t get an exact match in touch up paint have someone refinish it for you. That’s all a body shop would do.

It won't be perfect but it can be blended.

The level of correction depends on your personal choice. A detailer can't fix this but could hide it from a casual glance. That might be OK for you? If you are going to look at it every time you approach the car then go get it fixed by a reputable body shop. Full bumper refinish would be the best option as blending metallic paint is impossible. If you are going to tailgate, do donuts and burnouts in the local Safeway car park, then who cares, go use the car!

Original damage is always preferable to a half-*** repair.

Isn't that just the lower splitter? You can buy a plain black one that would match your air scoops on the front for almost nothing comparatively, and just leave it black. Probably install it at home in just a few minutes.

If you want it like brand-new, find a Porsche approved collision center. collision center link Enter your zip code and find one. My wife's Cayenne was rear-ended to the tune of 26k and the center I used was fantastic.

If you are driving your car (as evidenced by the other chips on bumper), touch it up, drive it and enjoy it. Its just going to get messed up again and things are only original one time.
