I predict that someone will purchase a Safari 992 and will immediately post on this forum seeking recommendations for the “best” lowering kit for it.

Well the prototypes do have lots of unsightly wheel gap.

The Porsche Dakar will get the 3.0L Turbo engine from the GTS. Allocations to the Porsche dealers will start beginning of 2023.

Another interesting point will be the gearbox ... given the single CO2 figure will probably come PDK only with some dedicated gearing and downhill speed control as seen in the Cayenne and Macan.
With this kind of hardware and software it will be fenomenal in the mountains on snow!

The optional Rallye package will give you the fixed wing. Otherwise it’s the regular retractable spoiler.

Me too. Let's start a petition.

And I don't know what Sport Classic pricing turned out to be, but I guess I'm enough of an idiot internet fan-boy to really want one of these.

Called my Porsche Center today and got an allocation.

The additional details they gave me:

- limited production of about 2000 (1984?)
- pricing above GT3
- internal configurator for salesforce shall be up at the time of presentation

I usually can not get a limited production car (bought my Touring on the parallel market) so it looks like this one will not drive much interest by VIP, speculators and the like ... probably it is priced too high and only an old Paris-Dakar funboy will be so mad to pay the exhorbitant price asked 😉

Rally package is new to me. Though makes sense why different spoilers in the pics yesterday

I’ve been told…
- engine based on 4s
- pricing above turbo
- has front and rear axle lift
- pdk only
- hard to get

I asked if heritage and moon pricing - no answer

dealer said only getting 1-2

Walter Röhrl behind the wheel in that first image. Should be interesting interviews and driving vids coming up.
