Hello guys, I still have opened order for my new 992 with 4ways SS+. Main reason for 4ways is quick access to back seats, but the dealer told me in the case of 4ways the whole seat doesnt move forward automatically after pulling the strap, only upper part of seat is released. Does it really work like this?
My decision was based on save of the weight, but mainly for easy access because of daily use with my 4yo son (it can be confusing waiting in the rain while the motor moves the seat forward). 4ways SS+ really doesnt release whole seat forward? Our ex Pajero from 90s was able to do this
I do no think they do, I think you manually release the seat up, and then use the strap to tilt the front of the seat up.
I have a 992 4S with 18way, and my 992 Targa 4S on order, I opted for the 4way SS+. I will say, the 18 ways are great, if you use all the lumbar and front thigh controls (I did not), and the movement of the seat up and back is really slow, so do not think you will be any worse off even doing both steps on the manual seats.

Id find that to be a bit annoying if true. I considered SS+ 4-ways for weight savings & easy backseat access as I recall the 991 was really easy with manual adjustment.
My son is 7 months old and I use a Graco Slimfit rear facing for the time being behind the passenger. I have the 14 ways and set 1 as my driving position and 3 as the farthest forward option. That way my normal procedure is: pull the release strap, click 3, wait for it to move forward and then I hop in with my kid and strap him in. The forward movement isn't all that slow to be honest...
The car is my daily, if we need to bring him along, we take the wife's SUV.

Nice. I have my 3 set the same. Its pretty quick & it makes the release on the strap easier as well once the seat is all the way forward & down. 1 is set for normal driving & 2 for build-your-own-bucket track days/canyon driving.

That is the way it works. I slide the seat forward then release the strap. Takes 2 seconds.
To be clear. The seat back is released with the strap and the seat bottom does not move forward automatically. So setting your memory settings as noted above so you can move the seat back first and then push a setting button to move the bottom forward.
Then the seat movement still takes more time with 18ways seats so I will go with 4ways SS+ anyway. Thanks again for advice
Hi just a word of caution. To move the seat forward on the 4way SS+ seat, you will need both hands. One hand to pull up on the lever, and the other to slide the seat forward.
If you are carrying your child, it will be nearly impossible to get to the back seat.
