LCA is a must have for a Cab as you see nada when the top is up.

Coupe. Didn’t get it. Maybe I should have but only had 1 car with it (Cayenne) and ignore it much of the time as it is a little too conservative in its operation. Another note, removed the bumper to install and a trailer hitch (on cayenne) and surprise it then required a 300 dollar calibration by the dealership to make it work properly. Just another layer of sophistication.

Cant get it on the GT3 either so figured I am in good company.

So far, my last four 911s have not had it, so I'm probably not going to get it short of Porsche making it a standard feature. It would not surprise me if LCA becomes mandated by law at some point.

If nothing else, there should be a law that every Altima and Maxima on the road have them forcibly installed. If I see one of those cars on the road - I am the one watching their blind spot and making sure I stay out of it, because I know for damn sure they're not looking.

Some people (not necessarily anyone in here) have their mirrors improperly positioned. They (ie my parents) set them up to have a nice view of the complete side of their car.

Also, if LCA requires those ugly mirror cameras, then that's another reason to pass.
My wife's economy SUV has those little mirror cameras. I absolutely love hitting the blinker and seeing the what's next to and behind me before I change lanes. Was really disappointed it's not an option on the 992 I am speccing out. Anything that makes viability and safety better is good in my book.

I have a hard time paying for things that I don’t really care for or need. I certainly wouldn’t have a problem with LCA if it was free.

It is really hard to explain why such a universal safety feature is not standard equipment on vehicles in this price range when it is on cars costing a fraction of the 911, ridiculous. Porsche would have you ala carting the brake lights, turn signals and a horn if they could.
I'll still buy a new one when things settle down in this market and that is why they get away with this abusive crap, we keep coming back for more.

Absolute MUST HAVE! I wasn't completely sold until recently when, on two separate occasions, both with the top up, LCA saved my ***. I think I'm a very good driver--I constantly check all three mirrors, head on a swivel, close attention, etc.--and on these two occasions, I would have missed the car that had crept into my blind spot on the right/passenger's side when I was about to move into the right lane were it not for the flashing LEDs.

So for me, it's a definite yes.

I am late on this but here is my late vote.
LCA: Lane change assist.
LKA: Lane keep assist.
which one are you hating? Sounds backwards.

Oh, I say yay for LCA. Saved my butt once makes it worth it. We all can not be perfect. Close?

Didn’t vote as I am not sure. On the surface, yes, another safety feature can’t hurt. But in the long run? What if some of us or even most of us start relying on it instead of looking? What if we start relying on it too much without realizing it? We multitask and a lot of our driving is automatic.

Somebody said the same argument can be made for mirrors, but mirrors are different. With mirrors our brain learns that this is just another way to “see” a specific area and we naturally want to “see” and have a mental picture of everything around us. The LED light is nothing of the sort. It is an on/off switch and you have to hope your brain does not decide to rely on it exclusively.

LCA illuminates LEDs in your mirror when you have someone in your blind spot or fast approaching your car. You’re still looking at your mirror. The 992 implementation is excellent.

It’s a hugely beneficial safety feature and should be a standard feature on our cars, as it is on economy cars. This is especially true for US market cars that don’t get the “good”
mirrors that the rest of the world gets.

If you just park your 911 in your garage to say that you have a 911, sure, you don’t need it. If you plan to actually drive your car on a road with other drivers, it is money well spent.

I bet your car doesn't have ABS, ESP....there must be a special section dedicated to amazing people like you, everyone else orders a Porsche

There was a time here in the UK when people were deactivating the DRL just because they were something the EU Parlament forced car manufacturer to install...they were willing to send their cars to a garage just to "unplug" the lights. Now every car comes with DRL led, I bet you love it. That is a safety device too.

I remember people telling "you must be an idiot to have them if you can't see other cars during the day, then don't drive!"

You see, it is not about anybody's sight, but enhancing what you already have. I personally like to have an LED light that warns me if someone is in my blind spot, not sure there but here in Oxford we have plenty of bicycles and it is generally a great thing to avoid killing someone! If you don't like it, then don't order it, not sure why you need to call others idiots....
