Yup, 25k is about right for midwest and east coast. West coast is 40-60k.

Define 'run of the mill' ... I thought the GTS was the sweet spot? Isn't it a tarted up Carrera S ?? lmao

In truth, the GTS is fairly limited right now...in a year, who knows.

Do you consider a Turbo / Turbo S run of the mill ?

People need to read the entire thread - including the corrections. It is a GT3, not a GTS. $100K on GT3 wasn't even that unusual before all the craziness.

My guess is that a lot of these same people were the ones saying 3 years ago that they would never pay MSRP for any car. Comparing what you paid against this arbitrary MSRP does nothing to measure whether it was or was not a good deal. Measuring against what other people in the same market (economic and geographic) paid does. If Joe paid $5k under sticker for a GTS 5 years ago, that was probably an average deal at best. If Joe paid $5K under sticker for a 992 GTS today, he got. very good deal.

I paid 5.89/gallon for premium yesterday. Surprisingly that was a "bargain" as it was 20c/gallon less than all the other comparable quality stations in my area.

If you buy anything during a bubble, then everyone is getting screwed in the long run. Of course, if you want a 911 and don’t want to wait years for the bubble to pop, then do what you have to do.

That’s also assuming Porsche prices are currently in a bubble - which I’m not so sure. Prices have collapsed before - 2008 was a bloodbath, if I recall correctly.

I think it’s best to not go into these things assuming it’s some kind of investment. It’s normal to lose money on 911s and that’s ok.

If someone wants a specific car now that in todays market is selling at a premium, they pay that premium to drive that car today. If they dont want to or cant pay ADM, then they wait and watch/read about others' experiences. Maybe they wait half a year or maybe longer. Manufacturers are raising their prices, so in a couple years these cars will be around 10k above current base prices anyways.

Agreed! Cars (with very, very few exceptions) are not investments. They are consumables. The only question is the cost of consumption - and it will be higher when supplies are scarce.

Obviously cars are not investments, but we are living in strange times with the advent of electric cars and the ultimate phase out of ICE cars. Plus supply shortages and maybe a new no inventory model in the future for dealers who now do not have to carry inventory. Add in inflation at who knows what rate, and I would not be overly surprised if a new 911 bought today at say 150K is worth more in 5 years.

Not necessarily an allocation, but in reference to my comment/question from yesterday.

Happened to call a local dealer who had a C4S land on the lot and was offered to me after a bit of conversation with the GSM.

Paid MSRP, so assuming it was a good deal. No waiting for an allocation, no markup. Not the exact build i would have gone with, but will scratch the itch for the time being.

So, did you buy the car before or after your evening post of yesterday? Sounds like you were looking for validation of your decision to purchase in this forum, rather than posting a valid inquiry. Enjoy the car.

Not sure where you are getting confused by my original post.

I had asked if an ADM was the going rate for all 911 variants yesterday, and if a car for MSRP was considered good as i am not hip to the current 992 market trend.

I was officially offered the car this morning, after that post and an in-person conversation at the dealer.

Purchase happened today.

Edit: If the post came off vague or ambiguous, it was simply to shield anyone who could have potentially poached the car before i could purchase it, if it were in fact deeemed to be a good deal.

Can we please post replies relative to the thread title. There are plenty of threads where you can debate ADMs.
Its annoying to wake up to an email alert about a topic your interested in, getting the ever elusive allocation, just to read about someones opinion on investments.

To get back on track 🤣🤣🤣

Yesterday I received an allocation for a 2023 cabriolet.

Early September build - November delivery.

I’m happy !!!

Will be trading my 2022 911 coupe.

You mean you’re not going to follow the financial advice of Rennlisters and wait six months for the financial collapse to get it at a 20% discount?

🤣🤣🤣

Gentian Blue / Blue Top / Black Interior is my first pass on configurator for cabriolet

Trade in for 2022 coupe - MSRP

I use the following criteria for decision making

Death is guaranteed.

The only person who will take care of me is ME.

Live for today there may not be a tomorrow 🤦‍♂️
