That's the location where i got my allocation BTW... Not sure what "produced in 2021" means though. My delivery is like first week of Feb.

I think he is claiming it’s the last allocation for a 2022 that will be delivered in 2021, but not entirely clear. They should still have 2022 allocation at the end of December and March before moving over to 2023 production. I believe the dealers get allocations quarterly.

If you go to cars.com and search brand new 2021 or newer 992s there are only 28 in stock…IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. And chances are most of those cars are already sold or way above MSRP. You currently still cannot get a PS5 or Xbox Series X and both those consoles have been out for almost a year. Ford just shut down production of the F150 because they cannot keep up with demand. At this point…you would be beyond fortunate to get any type of 992 delivered to you in 2023 if you have not already ordered one yet. I don’t think people realize just how brutal this chip shortage is.

not sure about that, no one has received their 22 yet, so this would mean only 4-5 months of people getting 22's before 23's ?

I should have been more specific - and maybe it doesn't make any difference - but I am looking for an allocation for a Targa 4 GTS which they apparently will not start building until "early 2022". I have been "dialing for dollars", I am on several "lists" and have multiple deposits down. I also am trying to work through a "friend of a friend" who owns a Porsche dealership and another contact who is a leasing broker and allegedly has "connection" at several dealerships. I naively thought that I was planning ahead by starting in July/August for a Spring delivery. Its been quite the wake up call. And I think I may have been absent in kindergarten when they taught patience. So if anyone has any ideas of something additional/different I should be doing, I am all ears. I have also opened my search up geographically figuring that I can always take delivery at the center in Atlanta.

I understand allocations are released quarterly. I started searching in April for a 2022 C2S Cab. No luck the first go around. Working with two local dealers I got lucky the next quarter and secured a November production / January delivery in July. Hence, the next round of allocations should be incoming in Sep/Oct.

I am very much considering it. I have my Turbo and 356C so I don't need another Porsche asap.
What does the commission number indicate? I’m asking because I have a commission number on my build sheet for a 2022 GTS in V070 status but don’t think allocations are out for the GTS yet. Previously I thought V200 meant I had a real order in the pipeline.

You have an order demand. It's not a true allocated build slot. V200 is a real order.

In my experience, it can be up to 6 months between the issuance of the allocation from Porsche and actual delivery. How long it takes to be issued the allocation is the real question. For my TTS, it took a few months after my initial request. There are times when the builds can be delivered a few months sooner than that, but probably not for this one.

Is V200 also when your spec is locked?

Is it correct that the commission number is irrelevant?

Getting an order demand is part of the process, which generates a commission number. It's not totally irrelevant, but having a commission number doesn't mean you have a live allocation. Or at least that's my understanding of it.

V200 is the delivery date determination and when the allocation is "live". Lock is v250. In the case of PTS cars, lock is determined at v215.
