Wait a minute. Is this a canned tune?

Would a Porsche service center be able to detect the this tune if reverted to stock before going in for service?

They should be able to, yes if they are really looking.

^ Wouldn't any tune that is not specifically done for your car be a "canned" tune?

Yeah, if he is using the common definition of “canned”, which I think he is here. Unless he thinks “canned” means something else?

The tune can be catered to any car, hence the datalogging. If we see something in the logs we don't like we will send a revision to fix it. We will also be releasing E30 and maybe more maps in the future. On out 992 Carrera we able to run full E85.

We protuned a car in Puerto Rico this morning with out M-Tuner suite and it did very well. Totally custom tune on the dyno.

‘Wow. Full E85. I can only imagine the power a full E85 tune would make on a 992 S. Has to be close to turbo S power… or at least enough power to give Turbo S performance w/ the carrera S’s much lighter weight.

So....is this tune only being offered on S trim levels? I don’t see base motor tunes being offered on the website.

I think most tunes now can run E85 blend.

Short update ... received dongle and M-Tuner software. Waiting for Mitch to build a map for my Carrera S. Will hopefully be able to compare it to my JB4 soon.

Doesn't full E85 require other fueling system updates (Pump(s), injectors, etc)? Often, even hoses, gaskets, and lines need to be replaced.
I didn't think that you could run it safely as-is on a system not designed for it. I presume that your 992 running E85 has other modifications.

Curious how much of a impact the tune will have on your fuel consumption too, tks.

Damn, this is a big deal, awesome when you consider the fact that many declared the 992 ECU to be untenable and impossible to address through the OBD port when the 992 was first introduced and delivered. To plug in well over 100 HP and a massive TQ increase for $2500 is one hell of a deal and the real plus side of the turbocharged configuration. Really exciting stuff indeed. It will be interesting to see what E85 will do, should be another 40 or 50HP/TQ.
Also nice to see that a forum sponsoring vendor is the first to break through and provide tuning in the highly desirable OBD fashion.

This is not my primary concern ... but I'm happy to let you know as soon as I get the map from Mitch. Greetings from NE Ohio!
