2022 Deliveries
#3
I’m wondering about 2022 orders already shipped to their destination county. A batch has already entered Canada but wondering if US EPA has been cleared yet.

Mine will be there in a few days after leaving Jacksonville yesterday (Felicity Ace).
I've been monitoring this thread to see if anyone in USA gets a '22 delivered. I checked the EPA link yesterday and only saw the GT3 and Touring as the '22 Porsche models certified. Getting slightly concerned about delays.

Hopefully it's much better than the 21 MY last year. The EPA didn't clear them until somewhere around early Dec....CARB took a tad bit longer. Early production cars were sitting at the VPC for months.

Because it’s the law. Each new model year imported into the US needs to submit an application for an EPA compliance certificate. They can use the previous model year’s data in some cases, but even in such cases, the EPA still needs to review and approve the application. With the amount of new imported models coming into the US vs before, the process takes a bit longer now. COVID mandating reduce staffing at the EPA has led to additional delays in the issuance of certifications.

As a relative newbie, If the 22 cars have no changes to engine why do we think that the approvals might be delayed? Is this covid related or something else? My 22 starts production on 8/27.

Gotta love gov’t bureaucracy.

This is well established and easy to corroborate if you go online for reputable sources.
Gas engines produce these particles also, but to a lesser degree than diesel I assume. These are the reasons for the particulate matter filter although there may be others.
The sports car enthusiast in me abhors particle filters because of added weight and altered exhaust sound.
My heart and cardiovascular system however, would much prefer to walk in a neighborhood where the vehicles have them for more healthful air.

Really looking for some input from those of you who have already pulled the trigger for a 992. I currently have a 981 BS and really like it but want to make the move to a more comfortable platform like my Cayenne Turbo and the 992 is the obvious choice. Problem is, there aren't any 992 on the dealer lots to drive. I've driven 991.1 but nothing newer. I would really appreciate any feed back from those that have made the move from the 981 platform to the 992. Thank you in advanced.
