Or a line of people who want to actually get a 911 any time soon...especially in this environment. I'm at 2 years 5 months, "and counting", to get called to order 718 GT4. Deposit put down "before specs were announced at Goodwood", let alone a "review".

Hm. Seems like someone is ascribing his own shortcomings to the motivation behind the actions of others. Personally, my GTS build was $7K more than my S build - seemed like a rational decision to level-up. D*** never entered into the picture.

The proper way is to spec out the car you want, then spec out the GTS. Does it tick a bunch of checkboxes for you that you were paying for with the S? What does that price delta end up being? If it is in line, then heck yea, go for it. But just cause you are over $150 does not mean you should consider the GTS trim. There is a lot more to it.

"If you already have an S today, no reason to **** on the GTS out of buyer's remorse. Just accept the fact there's always going to a shinier and faster toy next year that will make this year's GTS owners jealous. And so goes the life cycle of Porsche and Porsche owners"
That indicates that if you disagree that the GTS is God's gift to the world and you own a S then the only reason you are participating in this thread is cause you have buyer's remorse.

Actual info: the GTS provides a decent options package which can be had for ~7k more than a comparably equipped S, with a few extras the S won't have. The vast majority of people will not be able to tell the difference from the driver's seat, or even from the outside, save for the badge. For those of us that are spec'ing a highly optioned build, the GTS is worth considering. In my case, a no brainer.
