He said everything anyone would expect him to say about the GTS, no earth-shattering news here.

7:23 ring time without proper setup. Reckon could go quicker with more prep like they did with the gt3

just watched a couple of them. Nothing earth shattering. Not sure I see the reason in targa form to go GTS over 4S. I think if I was making a really sporty coupe build I'd maybe go gts but I still wouldn't want the centerlocks and hate that I can't get the standard tail light as I don't love the clears. So the tradeoffs in looks might outweigh the performance benefits of this generation for me. Still cool though.

the reviews are def kinda ho hum so far, but then, what should we have expected. it's a 992 with a power bump and bigger brakes. sign me up. can't wait until whatever is gumming up the works is resolved.

I guess if you're going to option up an S to near-GTS levels, then you might as well go all in and get the latter. Otherwise, 20-something hp more is not going to make a significant difference on the road unless tracking then it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Exactly. The car is perfect for the right person @dhirm5 - sounds like that is you. If one likes the trim differences, the race-tex (alcantera), etc...then the power bump and suspension tuning are just icing on the cake - especially if you are going to track it.

Alas, I would (and have) argue that if you are going to just put it back to leather, don't love the sport design stuff, and worse are going to drive it like a grandma (I'm looking in the mirror here), then you are just spending money you don't have to. Heck, I think I would have taken a base 911 if it came in manual..... But that's what I love about Porsche, so many choices....

I went from my 992 C4S to my current order/allocation for the Targa 4S for this reason. I also opted (like my 992 Coupe) manual, can't see needing the extra HP as it does not buy you much with the targa, specifically in Manual Transmission. I guess if you want the extra HP, you can opt for the M-engineering ODB upgrade to get an extra 50HP.

I also did not want the centerlocks, as I change into winters, and much easier with 5 lugs.

I'm def putting mine back to leather - because of the ventilated seats, which are incredible, and very welcome in DC area muggy summers. Love all the other bits though, including those wheels.

Decided to cancel my allocation.

My decision is not because there is anything wrong with the car, its a great car! I just wanted something more classic like a Gt3 touring (chrome bits) and I am not a fan of the sport design in front, was waiting for the videos to see if there was going to be anything revolutionary compared to the regular S/4S, but it doesn't seem like it. I have a 992 CS I was going to trade in for the GTS and 992 GT3. Also my wife may or may not have looked at me like I was crazy which might have have played a role.

So, if anyone wants one, contact Porsche Walnut Creek, there was no ADM but offered no discount. Good luck.

Was hopeful Porsche would offer some hardware upgrades on GTS vs. S (similar to 991.2 GTS) as far as engine goes, but seems it's all about higher boost...maybe slightly different exhaust. Disappointed with that but will keep allocation for now.
