992 GTS Review?

Yesterday I was ready to move to a C4S from my existing spot on the GTS list, but I re-read and re-listened to some reviews and now I'm leaning towards keeping the GTS. This article in particular swayed me: https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/42...911-sweet-spot. My biggest concern is a harsh ride like the Turbos given the borrowing of some of the suspension elements. There's only a $7K difference between my S and GTS builds.

As you should be! That is what is so great about the 911...They are all spectacular. There is one for everybody and they are all amazing in their own right. There's guaranteed to be something in the lineup that pushes all the right buttons for you!

The reviews out so far are not from any of the “heavy hitters”. I will wait until some of the more respected journalists release their driving impressions. Agreed most of the ones out thus far are more of a spec list type review with very broad driving impressions. Love him or hate him, Matt Farah’s video should be dropping today, according to him. Will be interesting to hear his thoughts.

Farah lost me when he said the GT3 has ‘darty’ steering…

Let's be honest here folks.
Most reviewers are not going to be able to discern the difference in any of the trims of the 911, either the base, S, 4S, etc.
The changes in performance are so incremental that for most hoi polloi the real difference comes to the badging at the rear of the car.
The different trim options is really a way to bundle a set of options at a price point that is more budget friendly than optioning them individually and, of course, the power bump that you get from the base --> S --> GTS, which for most mortals is not going to be noticeable, but which is basically unobtanium unless you are willing to forgo your OEM warranty.
All that said, most people if they were spec'ing an S today, and their build veers north of 150K, it would be foolhardy not to seriously consider the GTS trim.
If you already have an S today, no reason to **** on the GTS out of buyer's remorse. Just accept the fact there's always going to a shinier and faster toy next year that will make this year's GTS owners jealous. And so goes the life cycle of Porsche and Porsche owners.
