Reviving the oil thread
In the intervening months since my original lining up the ducks post, has anyone sourced a place to get hold of Mobil1 0w-40 ESP x3; C40 spec? Any other brand (Motul, RP, Castroil...) meet that standard?

IIRC Motul meets A40 not C40...

Sorry, my bad. Yes, I'm looking for 0w-40. Guess I'll stay with vanilla Mobil1 0w-40 as I can't seem to find anyone in the US that sells it. If anyone does locate somewhere please chime in.

Go with API "SN+" or "SP"
Presently Mobil1, Catrol and Valvoline all have this available in 10W-40 oil that meet the "SP" standard. No one has it in 0W-40, as yet that I can find.
$17.50 to $22.50 for a 5 Qt Jug on Amazon at the moment

Thanks, alas I need 0w-40. I can't believe that remaining with my vanilla flavored 0w-40 Mobil1 is going to crap out the engine.
So at the moment, it's a toss up between the above SN/SP no x3 or 0w-40 but C40 or, remain with 0w-40 meeting the A40 standard but no x3 or C40. Wonderful, sell a car in a country where you can't find:
* the engine oil that's supposedly recommended
* confusion reigns as to why this oil is needed since it seems in the US we don't have any 992s with (active) GPFs
* while (my) dealer firmly asserted that my 992 has a GPF.

Sorry, I thought I replied but…cyberspace?
I’m planning to change my own oil and also need 0w40. However, I brought my car to the dealer for the first oil change last month and when I picked it up I noticed they used LiquiMoly 0w40, which is A40 spec. Service rep said that’s what all the Porsche dealers in Ontario use. I’m ok with A40 but since then I asked Porsche Canada about warranty implications as that is not the oil specified in the owners manual. Porsche Canada referred me back to the dealer, which I thought was odd. I’ll post that response when I talk to the warranty rep at the dealer.
Meanwhile, Do you feel the A40 spec oil is inferior? Why?

I've looked long and hard as well. Since I'm in Texas I went with the alternate 5W-40 Top Tech 4110. I did not bother to ask my dealer what they used at the 10k change.
