Buying my first Porsche … need your help and advise
I am buying my first Porsche … it’s been my lifelong dream. I could not find any available inventory (I am in the Boston area) but got lucky that while at the dealership, he had an allocation open for a 2022 C4 and I took it and paid 5k deposit at MSRP. My two questions are:
1. per my booking, I have build lock date of 9/14/21 and est. Delivery date of 11/26/2021. How firm are these dates and will they be moved back too much? Can’t wait to lay my hands on my first Porsche
2. now I am agonizing on my build (although it’s a sweet agony filled with anticipation) and am narrowing to a chalk exterior. Which interior would you suggest and if any have some pics, black & red leather or graphite blue with chalk sticking and chalk deviated centers.

would love to hear your thoughts and advise

Congrats!

1) lock and delivery dates are fluid, best to have final changes done 1-2 weeks prior to your current lock date.

2) light exterior, dark interior usually works best.

The search tool in this forum is your best bet for all your questions and there are plenty of pictures for you to evaluate incessantly as you approach your lock date

I am in the Boston area, DM if you would like to meet up

Seriously, you need to drive more cars with manual transmissions.

Congratulations.
Re 1. Wait is agonizing and expect things to slip, but there have been rare occasions where dates move ahead. This is what Track Your Dream is for.
Re 2. If your budget allows, definitely go for a leather interior over the base interior -- it sounds like that's where your head is at.

Additional thoughts...
  • Spend the $1500 on PTV+. The C4 is currently the only way to get a limited slip differential with the Base engine. Money well spent.
  • Invest in a Porsche winter/wheel set. Your dealer and SA can cut you a deal and include them in the purchase, typically at a very nice discount. With the winter wheels/tires, the car will be a beast on cold road surfaces, even when there's no snow or wet on the ground. Given the timing of your car, you're going to want to drive this thing.

Not to be a grammar stickler, but it's "advice," not "advise." We can advise you as you request. But you are asking for advice.

wanted a manual as well … but could not find any allocation for a C4S and I could not wait (impatience) so when a c4 became available jumped at it and thought let’s me try as my first Porsche and can upgrade to a GTS in a couple of years.
