Unlikely (but unknown for sure) - likely different Hardware requirements for the MY22 992's. So us early adopters are likely stuck with the previous generation infotainment system...

I would be extremely (although pleasantly) surprised if one could upgrade to the 6.0 PCM. There are so many interlocking bits of hardware and software in a module like the PCM, to say nothing of it's compatibility with the rest of the modules on the car, it'd be a miracle if the software image or even a combination of hardware/software packages could be interchanged successfully.

It would be great if Porsche took a page from Tesla as to refreshing via software updates. However that is not a Porsche priority yet. And there are so many ways in which Tesla could take cues that Porsche is still way ahead.

While I have no prior experience with PCM, this update looks promising.

As far as I understand PCM 6.0 has more RAM and a faster processor, i.e. hardware changes. There will be no "software" upgrade for older models allowing the same capabilities. You may be able to get a new PCM installed for $$$$ if that it is worth to you.

Throw money at it, they won't refuse. Probably new hardware needed. I don't think it will improve the overall disaster. This PCM was design on a bench by people that take the train to work.

Probably better off trading pre-2022 992 for a place in line for a new or jump on a used 2022 once they start appearing. …or have an open pocket to be a Guinea pig as the cliche goes

you do realize it is just two pin to pop out the MIB and then you just need to code the car that's all. I don't think it is difficult if it work. It is just getting the MIB, got to find way to get it cheap or wait until people crash their Porsche and buy the MIB from that car

Setting aside the faster boot time, I prefer the layout and customizability of the older 992 PCM — frequently used functions take fewer taps.

Same here. I also really like that the home screen displays actual information cross a range of items and not just a bunch of buttons you need to press to show anything.
