Default Demo 992 Over 50 Faults

Hey guys, been a long time lurker on the forum but I just picked up my demo 992 a week ago with about 1300 miles. The second day after driving it, I got 8 random faults and a check engine light, here are some of the errors:
  • PAS restricted
  • Transmission error, reverse gear not available (and couldn't reverse)
  • Engine control error
  • Chassis system error
  • Rear differential lock error
  • PDCC function not available
  • Sport exhaust function not available
  • RAS error
  • Check engine light
It was out of state and was shipped, the selling dealer said it could be a low battery issue. After ignition cycling most of the error went away the following day, but came back after half a day of driving.
I sent it to a local (not selling) dealer a week ago since it's under warranty and they don't have any updates yet besides "looking into over 50 faults stored on the computer".
Any idea what's going on or what to do?

Wow, sorry to hear that. Some of us have experienced very intermittent warnings that go away after restarted. I've personally seen two "unavailable" warnings and don't even remember what they were... Maybe ACC or something else. But these have been very rare during my 10 months of ownership.

Your 992 sounds like it is way beyond the norm. Is at the dealership being looked at? That seems to be what's needed if they don't go away after some normal driving.

Appreciate the insight, yes it's at McKenna Porsche being looked at, but it's been a week so far and they have no substantial update - sounds like they're really backed up and I couldn't even get a Porsche loaner
Just been a disappointing experience so far, this is my first Porsche and was looking forward it.

Seems weird how there's so many faults that are seemingly unrelated, I'm assuming there's not something actually wrong with every one of those things.

Doesn't look like there's issues in the Carfax, only records are 2 service records for pre-delivery inspection and brake pad / tire replacements.

had similar issues with my 992 c2s after it was shipped east to west coast. was root caused to the battery going dead during shipping. fortunately my local dealer took care of it within 2 hours of the car being delivered to me.

Wow, new brake pads and tires after only 1300 miles? Seems really excessive. Did you get the full history of this car?

That does seem odd but didn't think much of it, I just have the Carfax, is there something else I can get for a more detailed history?

Ask them to check the battery.

That is bizarre. Car must have been heavily tracked.

Appreciate the insight, my selling dealer said it might be caused by battery issues as well. The voltage seems fine when the car is on / accessories are on and the car starts up without a problem, do you know how they diagnosed it or how they fixed it, just by charging the battery?

Also the warnings lights first came on while the engine was on and had been driving for most of the day while idling at a drive-thru.

It really doesn't sound like your servicing Dealer has assigned anyone with an adequate level of diagnostic skills to your car.

An entry level diagnostic procedure is to: 1.) Record/Note/Write Down all of the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) that the on board system has recorded. 2.) Clear all recorded DTC's. 3.) Operate the car under all of the various conditions (Drive Cycles) necessary for the on-board systems to exercise and test the systems in question. 4.) Address any DTC's that return (if any return) in the order provided by/through following the (Valley Forge style) Diagnostic Trouble Tree procedure(s) that Porsche specifies. Playing Hunt and Peck by what is sometimes called "Parts Changing" is extremely expensive for whomever is paying the bill(s) and at the very least is time consuming for the dealership as well as the owner of the vehicle.

Classical low voltage errors. Commonly the hauler driver don't lock the car or even worse, leave the key inside. That leaves the car with more drain than it's supposed to. Hopefully the battery is salvageable, trying warranty an AGM battery is a major pain.
